Melina Avecilla is an engineer graduated from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and holds a master’s degree in Applied Sciences from the University of Guanajuato, specializing in bio-based materials. With five years of experience in Research & Development at Beiersdorf, she focuses on the technical implementation of global packaging innovations across Latin America.

As the packaging lead, she drove the packaging strategy and technical implementation for the sustainable relaunch of the Nivea Shower Gel category for both women’s and men’s product lines in Mexico and Brazil, as well as the Body Lotion portfolio in Mexico. These projects were recognized within the Latin American packaging industry for incorporating 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, infrared-detectable packaging technology, and significant packaging lightweighting, helping advance circular economy standards across the region.
