Ms. Elizabeth Woodworth

Elizabeth Woodworth founded Wood & Company Consulting in 2016 after more than 20 years working in marketing and communications, and most recently, in sustainability. Elizabeth has worked as Director of Sustainability and Communications at Enviva, and most recently as VP of Communications and Community Engagement at the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. She also brings hands-on branding experience from her role as Director of Marketing at L’Oréal. Elizabeth served on the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) Board from 2012-2014, and received the 2014 Argus Biomass Award for Sustainability. A sought-after speaker, Elizabeth has led, moderated, and spoken at numerous conferences, corporate events and universities.

Ms. Fiona Matthews

Fiona has held the role of Research Manager at Hawkins Wright since 2014 and has been working in the bioenergy industry for ten years. She is the Editor of Hawkins Wright’s Forest Energy Monitor, a monthly information service which analyses global developments in bioenergy. She is also co-author of Hawkins Wright’s market-leading Outlook for Wood Pellets service and Asian-Pacific Biomass report. She regularly undertakes bespoke consultancy projects on topics including wood pellet and biomass markets, sustainability, and energy policy.

Mr. Alfons Van Weereld

After he held several senior management positions across Europe in Exxon, Essent and Duferco, Alf is since 2009, Head of Biomass Sourcing and Trading at Uniper (former E.On). In this role, he is responsible for leading the teams across Uniper, responsible for global development, sourcing and trading of biomass for all Unipers’s biomass projects and operations.

During his 13-year career at Essent he spent 9 years as a Board member of Essent Generation, Essent Renewables as well as of Essent Trading SA. During that period, he was as Senior Vice President, key responsible for the development, implementation, globalization and commercialization of the sustainable and biomass business in Essent.

Alf is a founding father of the Green Gold certification program and is currently holding a number of positions on bodies leading on biomass and sustainability.

Michael Schytz is heading the fuel procurement and logistics department at HOFOR. He has been working with procurement of biomass, both wood pellets and wood chips for 10 years. Mainly focusing on procurement, supply chain development and sustainability.

Mr. Henry Pease

Henry Pease currently works in RWE Supply & Trading's biofuels trading team. The team buys and sells biomass for internal and external customers. He has extensive experience of sourcing biomass from North America and Europe. He has worked closely on the conversion of Tilbury Power Station from coal to biomass, also with the RWE Essent team on co-firing biomass at the Amer Power Station in Holland, and potentially Lynemouth (UK) and Eemshaven (NL) too. He has developed new biomass supply markets including residential heat in Europe and industrial demand in Asia. Prior to joining RWE Henry developed and raised funding for a biomass CHP and wood pellet plant in Belgium. He has an MBA from the University of Virginia and a BSc from University College London.

Mr. Thomas Meth

Thomas Meth is the co-founder and Executive Vice President of the Sales and Marketing team of the Enviva family of companies. Thomas has led Enviva’s global Sales and Marketing team since the company’s inception, developing strategies and contracts for utility, industrial and commercial customers in the US, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. He is also responsible for Enviva’s sustainability and public affairs initiatives. Enviva Partners, LP (NYSE: EVA) completed its initial public in April 2015, becoming the first publicly traded, master limited partnership that focuses on renewable energy production. The publication Environmental Finance named Enviva’s IPO its “Bioenergy Deal of the Year”.  He has been with Enviva for over 12 years.
