Biomethane projects are moving from demonstration towards commercial scale. New aggregation and grid-injection models are emerging. Bio-LNG is opening pathways into marine fuels and international trade. Green hydrogen and e-methane are creating further possibilities for decarbonising existing gas infrastructure and hard-to-electrify demand.

Across the region, Malaysia and Indonesia offer substantial waste and residue resources; Australia is advancing production, grid injection and renewable-gas certification; India is rapidly scaling CBG; while Japan is developing demand and trading pathways for biomethane, Bio-LNG and e-methane.
