"Market Consolidation amidst Shifting Trade Patterns & Capacity Surplus" |
|
The Asian phenol market is experiencing an overcapacity since 2 years ago due to new plants commissioned in China, Thailand and South Korea. Phenol market players will have to brace themselves for an influx of new supplies this year as additional phenol capacities from China’s CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Co. (CSPC), India’s Deepak Phenolics and Saudi Arabia’s Petro Rabigh are expected to come on-stream.
Will the demand for downstream derivatives catch up with the current supply?
Acetone, on the other hand, is facing a run-up in prices and with phenol producer cutting output, it might lead to a tighter acetone supply. How will this impact acetone derivatives market?
Attend CMT’s 14th Phenol/Acetone & Derivatives Markets on 7-8 March 2017 in Bangkok to find out the latest happening in the industry & network with industry’s who’s who in 2 days!
