Oran Ayalon, PhD, is currently the CTO and co-founder of AlgaHealth (AH) Ltd, a company he founded with Mr. Hagay Tzur, the former CEO of Algatechnologies Ltd. Dr. Ayalon has 25 years of experience in the microalgae biotech Industry, particularly on astaxanthin and fucoxanthin-based products. He pioneered the nutraceutical algae industry, especially in the development of microalgae astaxanthin products with Algatechnologies (2007 – 2014), where he had a pivotal role in transforming that company from a mediocre start-up to the world leader in natural astaxanthin production. Moreover, together with Mr. Tzur, they were directly responsible for the biggest “multi-million- exit” in the microalgae industry. In addition, Dr. Ayalon initiated & developed the first commercial Fucoxanthin product in the world, which is sourced from microalgae. Oran’s professional career included senior positions in various other companies such as Algalo Industries Ltd, NVRLabs, D-Pharm. and OraDel Medical Ltd. Since October 2019, Dr. Ayalon has also been an expert evaluator on the “Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking” (BBI-JU), which is a joint program of the EU and the “bio-based industries consortium” (BIC).
