French beauty giant L’Oréal is looking to restart the manufacturing of products in Argentina, according to an announcement made by Germán Herrera, an executive of L’Oréal’s Argentine subsidiary. Herrera also said the company aims to develop its own industrial park in Argentina.

The rapid growth of end-user sectors, including personal care and household products, mining, and agrochemicals, is expected to sustain the Brazilian and Argentinian surfactants market, according to a new report by Frost & Sullivan. The personal and household care segmentsare  the key end users  due to greater purchasing power of the middle class, who are spending more on fast-moving consumer goods.

 

According to Frost, Anionic surfactants account for nearly 50% of the total market in Brazil and Argentina as it is heavily utilized in the personal and household care segments& the cationic surfactants segment to expand the fastest. Walmart Urges Use of "Greener Chemicals" in Beauty… Among its five new sustainability initiatives, Walmart is offering products with "greener" chemicals. Walmart provided an overview of its new Consumables Chemicals initiative, describing how it is working with suppliers to reduce or eliminate the use of priority chemicals used in consumables products in favour of greener alternatives. It will begin with household cleaning, personal care, beauty and cosmetic products, asking suppliers to transition to greener substitutes for priority chemicals.
