He holds a bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology and Masters in Business Administration from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

 

Since November 2016, Satish has been with PepsiCo serving the AMENA region for Packaging Films and Laminate development. His focus and interest lie in the area of development environment friendly Films and Packaging. He believes a lot more needs to be done in the form of investment and Technology development and rapidly to ensure a better of quality of life and nature especially in the field of Bio-Plastics & Chemicals.

He’s a mechanical engineer with a keen product eye with over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of senior managerial positions in brand-facing operations and vendor-facing sourcing in the areas of Athletic Footwear & Sporting Goods product innovation, development, materials, engineering, commercialization and sourcing. Bruno enjoys leading multiple teams on end-to-end, multi-skilled approaches and solutions in a high-performance work-team environment on from R&D, prototyping, engineering, testing, costing, machine/process/material-developments, industrialization, QA, procurement & production.

 

He is currently based in Hong Kong, following prior postings in Canada, USA, Taiwan, South Korea & China with Coach, adidas-Group, Rollerblade/Nordica, Bauer-Nike & CCM-Reebok brands.

Prof. In-Joo Chin, a Ph. D. in polymers from MIT, has written some 150 peer-reviewed papers in his almost thirty years of academic career.
 
Dr. In-Joo Chin has been a professor in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering at Inha University in Korea since 1986, and he has worked closely with biochemical industry. Since 2008 Dr. Chin has worked as President of Korean Bioplastics Association (KBPA), which represents various stakeholders of Korean bioplastic industry such as resin makers, converters, and brand owners. 
 
A Ph.D. in polymers from MIT, Prof. In-Joo Chin published approximately 150 papers in the peer-reviewed journals and coauthored three books in bioplastics, soft nanomaterials, and polymer nanocomposites, etc. Since March 2013 he has also been serving as President of Inha Technical College, which is a top-notch applied science higher education institution with 24 different programs and the enrollment of about 6,500 students.
 
Prof. Chin has been invited as Adjunct Professor at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, Research Advisor for the School of Materials Engineering at University of Malaysia, Perlis(UniMAP), and a member of the BINUS Advisory Council for BINUS University in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Mr. Ho is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Thai Wah Public Company Ltd, responsible for developing the company’s long term vision as a leading starch and consumer foods company in Southeast Asia. Since its founding in 1947, Thai Wah has been a leading pioneer in the starch and food industry now expanding its footprint to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and China. The company currently has over 10 operations across 4 countries, driven by its commitment to portfolio innovation and operational excellence.

 

From 2010 – 2015, Mr Ho was the Executive Director and Country Head China for Banyan Tree Holdings, playing an leadership role in growing Banyan Tree’s regional headquarters in Shanghai and helping the brand establish its position as the leading luxury hospitality brand in China. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ho worked with the global consultancy Bain & Company Inc. in their New York, Hong Kong and China offices, harnessing his experience in private equity, organizational structure and strategy.

 

Mr. Ho serves as a mentor to the Kairos ASEAN society and is actively involved in entrepreneurship and venture capital. He has served on the board of United Nations Women Singapore, Wharton China Alumni Club and is also a Captain of the Singapore Armed Forces.

 

In 2017, in recognition of Thai Wah Group’s sustainability and community efforts across the region, Mr Ho was awarded the “Outstanding Leader in Asia” award at the 4th Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards held in Singapore.
Mr. Ho has a BSC in Economics (Honors) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the AMP program from CEIBS, China’s leading business school.

Nopadol Suanprasert received his B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and an MBA from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He worked in Australia for Unilever Australia Pty.,Ltd. Then he emigrated to Canada where he worked for Nortel Canada. After many years in Canada he returned to Thailand, his home country.

 

In Thailand, he worked for industries and development finances. Among them were the UK’s Commonwealth Development Corporation, the Canadian International Development Agency. His career path changed when Thailand was building the second Bangkok international airport.

 

He was appointed by the Ministry of Transport to be the Executive Vice President of the state enterprise (NBIA) that constructed the airport until completion. Then his career changed for the second time when the Thai government implemented a large scale project to grow rubber in the north and northeastern region of Thailand. He was appointed by the Ministry of Agricultures to be the Director General of the state enterprise (ORRAF) that implement the project. This was where he learnt about  bioplastics and conducted field applications with rubber planting. The rubber expansion project put Thailand’s natural rubber as the biggest producer. Natural rubber is Thailand’s first product champion.

 

After finishing his term at the state enterprise, he started Global Biopolymers to do business in bioplastics. He envisages that bioeconomy, in particular, bioplastics will be Thailand’s second  product champion following natural rubber.

She obtained her Master of Science degree in Strategic Management from London School of Economics in 2007. Before Avantium she worked at TNO, one of Europe’s largest research institutes, for approximately 10 years. There, she worked at the Strategic Analysis & Policy department, where she had a specific focus on bringing new technology to market in the areas of circular economy and the energy transition.

Gihan Hewage is an Analyst at Lux, and leads the materials team's coverage of bio-based materials and chemicals. In this role he conducts research on technical and market trends in areas such as bio-based polymers, sustainable packaging, and bioperformance materials.

 

Gihan holds a masters in Chemistry from MIT, where he worked on  synthesizing novel resin for solid phase peptide synthesis. Gihan also earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Duke University, where he coauthored several academic publications on topics including stress-responsive polymers and mechanochemically active soft robots.
