Novel Proteins a sustainable solution for imminent global demands

PROFILE

Dr Manish Shukla has over 17 years of experience in contributing and leading various research and commercial areas of Biotechnology.  Before Joining Reliance, Dr Shukla worked as a Senior Scientist in TIFR, Mumbai establishing various protein analytics platforms and researched on various aspects of Algal stress metabolism, thus richly contributing to key understandings on live cell changes during growth. This was accompanied by high impact publications in various internationally renowned journals in the area of Algal Biology. During his PhD from MSU Vadodara and Postdoctoral studies at Louisiana State University, USA, under the aegis of the  NASA NSF, he added deep understanding in the areas of bacterial radiation resistance and their potential to Mars survival.
In Reliance R&D he has established platforms to develop robust understandings on the metabolomics and proteomics of Algae, to harness and optimize their productivity for commercial use. Further Dr Shukla is driving the potential of Algal technology proficiency at Reliance R&D for various food and Ingredients segment. Currently he is heading the efforts for the synthetic biology based innovation and development to commercialize Algal protein and other ingredients as a sustainable alternate to business and society.
