Jian Yong is a PhD student under the supervision of Associate Professor Liu Shao Quan at the Food Science and Technology Department in National University of Singapore. He is also the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of a Singapore Food Tech Start-up called SinFooTech. Jian Yong’s research interests are food fermentation and food waste management. His current PhD research focuses on converting soy whey or tofu whey into a first-of-its-kind soy whey alcoholic beverage that he named Sachi. He founded his own team in 2018 to bring the technology from the lab to the market.
