He has 20 years of experience in International Corporations in Mexico and Canada. His career has included important responsibilities in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions, Foreign Trade and Corporate Affairs.

 

He is currently Director of Corporate Affairs at Nestl頠Mexico, responsible for delineating the strategy of corporate relations and social responsibility; in addition que coordinates  the institutional relations with government, academia, Private Sector and NGOs.

 

He is an active member of the Councils of the National Association of the Coffee Industry (Anicafé, National Chamber of Milk Industries (Canilec), Association of the Chocolate Industry (Aschoco), Mexican Foundation for Health (Funsalud), Conméxico , Conar and Ecoce.

 

He was President of Canilec for 3 years from 2014 to 2017, after 2 years of being Vice President of the same.

In 1993 he began his professional career at Kraft Foods, where for 10 years he led different key projects in areas such as: Quality Assurance, Environmental Engineering and Occupational Safety.

Among its achievements are the recognition of Environmental Excellence for one of the Kraft Foods factories, granted by the Government of Mexico, being the first food manufacturing plant to obtain it for its environmental practices.

He has 16 years of experience in Unilever, where he has developed improvement processes in the field of environment and safety, which have been a reference for different Unilever factories in Latin America. It also highlights his contribution as a certified auditor in these matters, to achieve the objectives established in the Unilever Sustainable Life Plan.

He has collaborated with different industrial and government agencies for the development of environmental policies, as well as in various international congresses.

He´s in charge of the Sustainability area in Unilever Latin America leading the sustainable agenda, as well as the strategy related to the inclusion of recycled plastic in the products of the various Unilever categories.

As a sustainability manager, Janette focuses on the strategic direction of ARP’s sustainability program across our LATAM business. She is an expert in packaging sustainability and collaborates with operations, research and development, sales and marketing, and procurement teams to implement Amcor’s sustainability strategy. She also helps identify and pursue more technical, localized, or product-specific sustainability opportunities.

 

Janette graduated from Emory University in 2007 with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Department of Chemistry, funded by the NSF Center of Excellence program in green chemistry and catalysis. She worked at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, OH, from 2009-2019 in Sustainable Material Development, Disruptive Market Innovation for Beauty, and PG Ventures in material and product design. She is cited as a co-inventor in over 30 patents. She is also a board member of the Organic Reactions Chemistry Society focused on developing more sustainable catalytic processes and materials.

As a professional, Hector has been developing for mayor brands several products, in the food and beauty industry. After having graduated as an Industrial Designer at The Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana, 1999, Hector had the opportunity to collaborate in different company, starting with International Paper, Mars, Mondelez, Jafra, Natura and most recently L´Oreal. In each of them Hector had the opportunity to understand better the impacts that each industry have and scies the opportunities to make a difference on environmental aspect. His teaching experience includes Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) campus Queretaro teaching last semester of Industrial designer on Eco desing. Currently at L´Oreal he is in charge of implementing sustainable and enviromental initiatives with key relevance and impact on the Global scale conditions.

Fernando has been associated with PET, RPET and Polyester business for nearly 29 years, in different positions including operations, process, quality, technical and sales. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Monterrey and Master’s in International Commerce from the same institution.
 
He joined Alpek Polyester, then DAK Americas / Akra Polyester, back in 1990 in several operations and manufacturing roles, in 1996 he started his commercial experience in the polyester staple business, then in 2007 he developed the Purchase for Resale Business Unit which implied the development of Asian suppliers for specialty fibers and its further commercialization in US, Mexico, Central and South America. In 2012 he was transferred to US to manage the RPET business Clear Path Recycling. Since 2015 Fernando is Commercial Director for Resin Business for Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, Colombia and Europe.

Edward Kosior received a Bachelor of Applied Chemistry and Diploma of Education from Melbourne University and Masters of Engineering Science in Polymer Engineering from Monash University Australia.

 

He then worked at RMIT University, in Melbourne, Australia from 1975 to 1997, reaching the level of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering teaching polymer engineering and supervising PhD and MEng students. He was the inaugural Director of the RMIT Polymer Technology Centre that conducted industry focused polymer research into recycling.

 

He joined Visy Industries in 1997 and was based in Melbourne and Sydney in Australia where he was the Senior Research and Development Manager for Visy Recycling. In this role he was responsible for the plant design and business development of markets for recycled plastics.

 

He then set up Nextek Ltd in London in 2005 as the inaugural Managing Director. This involved overall management of the business and responsibility for the research and development activities of Nextek. Recent activities have included strategic advice and consulting to Fortune 500 organisations on end of life options for packaging wastes as well as complex materials.

He is an Honorary Professor at Brunel University London, at the Wolfson Materials Processing Centre. He is a Fellow of The Society of Plastics Engineers (FSPE), Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FMMM), and a Fellow of Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).

His most recent award ws the Prince Philp Medal for “Polymers in the service of Man”.

 

He holds several patents for the recycling plastics and been instrumental in the introduction of recycled plastics into food packaging in Europe and Australia (PET, HDPE and PP).

 

His goals are to help preserve and improve the natural environment through novel technologies that reduce waste generation and increase the closed loop economy that promotes high efficiencies in the use of limited resources and truly sustainable materials. He is also working on mitigating plastics in oceans and encouraging adoption of science and best practices in avoiding the environmental problems facing developing countries.

Also worked for different material packages with P&G, Kraft Foods, Alsea, Phoenix Packaging Group in Mexico and for Latin America regions.

Her commercial roles in Packaging and Food ingredients companies include i.e. Huhtamaki and McCormick for Mexico and Latin America. Ms Maritza is a member and Board of Directors participants in Professional Associations such as Mexican Association of Packaging (Treasurer), Mexican Association of Executive Women (Member at large), Institute of Food Technologies/ Packaging Division (Member at large), Centro Politecnico de Proyeccion (Board Advisor)

Scholar of the Confederation of British Industry for training in food technology 1975 and 1976, he joined Industrias Penoles, Mexico's largest mining group, as Sales Manager for Chemical Division 5 years in Mexico, 4 in the New York office, then became New Project Manager until 1988. In 1989 he moved to Continental Can Company, to lead the project to produce PET containers in Mexico, with new technology for reusable returnable bottles. After the break-up of the company Santiago started the project with new ownership and was Sales Director for Latin America for Continental PET Technologies until 2001.

 

During this time he lead a group of companies to form APREPET, an industry association devoted to promote recycling and responsible use of PET, and became first chairman in 1995. After leaving Continental PET, Santiago moved to be APREPET's General Manager until the association was shut-down in 2008. Since 2009 he is an independent consultant in the area of sustainability and PET recycling, mostly as a Senior Consultant for PCI PET packaging and recycling of the UK, and with ECOCE, an association of the most important PET recyclers in Mexico.

 

Nació en la Ciudad de México, Ingeniero Químico por la UNAM, becario en tecnología de alimentos en Gran Bretaña, laboró 10 años en la industria química y metalúrgica en Industrias Peñoles, en México y Nueva York
En 1989 inició el proyecto de una de las primeras empresas fabricantes de envases de PET en México, y fue director de Continental PET Technologies para América Latina hasta 2001.
En 1995 encabezó el grupo que formó APREPET A.C. la primera asociación de la cadena productiva de envases de PET, y fue su primer presidente.
De Noviembre de 2002 a 2008 se desempeñó como Gerente General de APREPET A.C.
Desde 2009 es Consultor Senior de PCI-Wood MacKenzie de Gran Bretaña. Adicionalmente desde 2012 es coordinador del Comité de Reciclado de Ecoce A.C.

Arnulfo Rodri­guez is a Senior Economist at BBVA Bancomer since 2012. As a professional economist, Arnulfo has analyzed various macroeconomic, financial, regional and sectoral issues related to the Mexican economy. After having graduated from the PhD program in economics at The University of Texas at Austin in 2004, Arnulfo worked for the central bank of Mexico as an Economic Researcher. His main tasks there, besides doing research, consisted of organizing international conferences, coordinating regional economists from all over the country and representing the central bank in the committee responsible for the seasonal adjustment of the main economic time series released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

 

He has published numerous papers in prestigious international academic journals. His teaching experience includes The University of Texas at Austin, St. Edward's University and the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE). Arnulfo earned a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) and graduated with the highest honors (Mención de Excelencia) in 1995. Currently at BBVA Bancomer, he is in charge of analyzing regional and sectoral issues of key relevance to the Mexican economy
