He has more than two decades of experience with disruptive solutions and business models in semiconductors, electronics, Internet and energy.

Sunil has been involved in the renewable energy industry for more than a decade. Sunil developed renewable energy strategy at Sembcorp Industries in 2015 and grew the business to 2,600MW across five countries by end of 2018. In 2019, he transitioned to Vena Energy, which is operating and developing renewable energy assets in Asia Pacific. Current focus countries are Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and India.

Sunil also worked as global head of cleantech banking at Standard Chartered and global head of technology and global cleantech research at Morgan Stanley. During his term, Sunil steered these institutions to win many prestigious industry awards. He has had a firsthand experience of participating in the emergence of cleantech companies in Asia, Europe and the US. Over last 20 years he has led numerous capital markets, project financing and structured credit solutions for Cleantech and renewable companies in multiple regulatory and financial markets. Sunil has extensively engaged with regulators for structuring and formulating renewable energy policies.

Sunil earned B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, both in India.

His expertise includes wind resource assessment and wind farm design.  His current role in Pöyry Energy is managing wind projects including feasibility studies, due diligence, lender’s engineer assignments and owner’s engineer services.
Previous to Pöyry Energy, Eugene worked for Nordex and Gamesa as wind & site engineer, and then for UPC Renewables as a wind resource manager, thereby accumulating experiences from the different perspective of OEM, developer and consultancy.  In addition, he has been actively involved in wind projects in the booming Asia-Pacific market, including China, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and now Vietnam, since 2010.

His main practice focuses primarily on mergers & acquisitions, particularly within the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors. As a transactional lawyer, Chi Lieu acts for various clients on investment into power, energy and infrastructure projects in Vietnam by way of both greenfield development and mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on deal structuring, due diligence, contract drafting, negotiation, and provides day-to-day advice on project operation matters. In addition, Chi Lieu has extensive experience in developing the legal framework on power, energy and infrastructure areas in Vietnam, including the development of the legal framework for renewable energy in the country by providing technical assistance to the Government and relevant stakeholders.
Mr. Dang graduated magna cum laude with an LLM from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law (2008). Prior to obtaining his LLM, he received his Bachelor of Laws from Hanoi Law University (2001) and Bachelor of Arts in English from Hanoi Foreign Studies University (2002).

He is a Member of the Bank Board’s Risk Management Committee and Organizational & Strategy Committee. He is also a Member of the National Fiscal and Monetary Policy Advisory Council and a Member of Vietnam National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (VNCPEC).
Prior to his return to Vietnam in early 2009, he was a senior fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and a Humphrey Fellow (under a Fulbright exchange program) in the US during 2007-2009. In 2008, he was a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C and Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. In 2003, Dr. Luc was the only Vietnamese to have received the prestigious Australia-Asia Award for his doctorate program.
Dr. Luc is a frequent speaker for various TV reports, issues on economics, banking-finance, and economics/finance conferences.  He has a number of articles published in the Journal of Financial Services Research, Journal of Asia-Pacific Economy, China Economic Review, and Journal of Asset Management. Dr. Luc holds an MBA and a Doctor of Business Administration - DBA (major in Finance) from Monash University, Australia, both under the Australian government scholarships.

The team’s activities include conventional and renewable power, oil & gas, LNG, base and precious metals, transportation and social infrastructure. He is based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director in Société Générale’s New York-based Energy Project Finance Group, where he was responsible for originating and executing transactions in the conventional power, renewable energy, LNG and oil & gas sectors in the United States, Canada and Latin America. Daniel has over 18 years of experience in structured finance and has focused on the Energy and Natural Resources sectors for the past 15 years.
 
Daniel has been involved in several important transactions in the renewable energy sector across the region, including the 126 MW Formosa 1 offshore wind farm in Taiwan – the first offshore wind farm to be project-financed in Asia Pacific -, several projects in Indonesia such as the 180 MW Asahan 1 hydro power project, the 39 MW Hasang hydro power project and the 320 MW Sarulla geothermal project, 18 wind and solar power projects in Australia over the past 3 years, several hydro power projects in China, Chile and Peru, a 300 MW wind farm in Mexico and approximately 5000 MW of wind and solar capacity in the United States and Canada.
