Carles Ibañez graduated in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia with a Civil Engineering and Master degree in Geotechnics. In 2006 started working in the Construction Chemicals companies, where started to learn about materials, for thereafter becoming an expert on Energy Efficiency and Expandable Polystyrene, the main insulation material for façade insulation. In 2013 completed a Master on Nanotechnology and Materials Science in the Autonomous University of Barcelona . Since 2016 is working as Technical Marketing Manager for Building and Construction market at ICL, where continues to work in the insulation products either based on polystyrene or polyurethane.

Ms Spencer joined PCEP as Secretary General in January 2019. Her role is to deliver PCEP’s mission - to advance the circular economy by increasing the reuse and recycling of polyolefin-based products, and the use of recycled polyolefin as raw material. Ms Spencer previously lead the environment and energy team at Burson Cohn & Wolfe Brussels, a global public affairs and strategic corporate communications consultancy. Prior to consultancy she worked in the European Parliament. Passionate about the environment, science based policy, and communications, Ms Spencer has worked on a broad range of environmental policy issues in European and Global fora. She holds a degree in Physics from Imperial College, London.

Florian Riedl is the Head of Business Development of the Newcycling® division within the company APK AG. Newcycling® is a special solvent-based recycling technology that enables the separation of the polymers in multi-layer packaging and mixed plastic waste. His responsibilities include the development of strategic suppliers, customers and partners for the Newcycling® division.
He graduated in Plastics Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Rosenheim (Germany), with the degree Dipl.-Ing. (FH). He started his career in the sales and project management for under water pelletizing machinery for the plastics industry. Later on he moved to an international chemical company, in the sales for plastic additives in Germany. In 2015 he finally started at APK.

Carlos Monreal is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Plastic Energy Limited, the world’s leading chemical recycling company, which has its technology HQ in the Innovation Centre, London and industrial plants in Almeria and Seville, Spain.
He has significant experience as a CEO and has been a serial entrepreneur for more than 30 years. He was the founder and CEO of Inlandgeo, a company supplying high tech electronic instruments and turnkey solutions in multiple industries for 24 years, and later President of Abasol for seven years. This company offered consultancy and EPC solutions on renewable energy and efficiency.
 
Carlos is also founder and CEO of Greenland Capital, a company with the vision to identify and develop disruptive technologies that provide sustainable and economical solutions to the growing challenges of waste management and alternative energy management.

He studied Business Administration at the University of Navarra and Engineering at the University Polytechnic of Madrid and returned there to study waste management in 2014.

Frithjof is a Junior Policy Analyst at the OECD Environment Directorate, working on issues around resource productivity, waste and the circular economy. This workstream includes OECDs work on plastics and plastic waste, which has recently focused on improving markets for recycled plastics (book publication), chemical information systems for improving plastics recycling and sustainable plastics design. Frithjof has a masters in Environmental Economics from University College London.

Graham is the Managing Director of SLOOP Consulting B.V. which has been offering consulting services and tools in the field of packaging and sustainability since 2009.

He is the Managing Director, founder & project co-ordinator for CEFLEX (a Circular Economy for Flexible Packaging), which is a collaborative initiative by over 100 companies and associations from across the flexible packaging value chain to make flexible packaging even more relevant in the circular economy.

Since 2011 he has also been retained by the European Aluminium Foil Association and the Flexible Packaging Europe Association to provide advice and advocacy services related to the sustainability of foil and flexible packaging. Prior to 2009, he worked for Unilever for 23 years with a wide range of responsibilities including: R&D, Packaging management and design, Supply chain restructuring, Sustainability and CSR.

He is recognised as one of the industry thought leaders for sustainable packaging and is one of the 13 founding members of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) and has served on the boards of EUROPEN & SPC.

Hans is the Vice-President Public Affairs Europe at Coca-Cola European Partners. Amongst his responsibilities is the company’s packaging and recycling policy. He joined the Coca-Cola system in 1998, serving as the Director of Public Affairs and Communications in The Netherlands for nine years. In this capacity, he was responsible for the company’s transition from refillable to non-refillable/recyclable PET bottles. He also developed a sustainable policy and published the first public societal report within the Coca-Cola system. From 2007 to 2011 Hans was the Director of Public Affairs, Communications and CSR at Starbucks Coffee Company for the Europe, Middle-East and Africa. He then returned to Coca-Cola to his current role, and since March 2017 also serves as the Chairman of the European Organization for Packaging and Environment (EUROPEN). Hans holds a master degree in Business Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam/Rotterdam School of Management

He holds several patents for recycling processes and is Honorary Professor, at the Wolfson Centre for Material Processing, Brunel University London
