https://www.cmtevents.com/EVENTDATAS/190413/speakers/Pimpa.jpgDr. Pimpa Limthongkul graduated with a bachelor degree in Materials Science and Engineering (Cum Laude with Honor) from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA in 1997.  She earned her Ph.D. degree in the same area with a minor in Technology and Policy in 2002 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts USA.
Dr. Limthongkul has over 25 years research experiences in both academic, government and private sectors in Thailand and USA.  For the past 20 years, her work has been geared towards the field of materials for electrochemically related energy systems, specifically high-performance rechargeable battery technology and solid oxide fuel cells.  She is a co-author of  over 60 scientific publications, a co-inventor over 10 patents/ patents applications and has been invited to several scientific conferences and has won several awards, the recent one being L’oreal – Unesco for Women in Science, Thailand 2014. Her research work has helped found 2 companies in the field of Lithium – ion batteries: A123 Systems and 24M Technologies, Inc.
Dr. Limthongkul is currently holding a position as Head of the Electrochemical Materials and System Laboratory at MTEC/NSTDA, using her knowledge and experience to develop new battery materials and system that would lead to realization of electrification of vehicles, growth of renewable energy and development of highly efficient power grid.
