He has been featured on TV, newspapers and was also a Steering Committee member of Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) and Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) Youth. Alan is an Alumni of Singapore Management University having majored in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

Simon has 17 years of experience analysing and understanding commodity markets. As a Director of LMC International, Mr Bentley led a team advising on all aspects of carbohydrate markets with a focus on grains and their derivative products. He has advised multinational agribusinesses, energy and chemical companies on their raw material purchases, processing and operations as well as government bodies focussed on reform of grain related markets.

As a Vice President of Olam International Mr Bentley led the research for a commodity fund focussed on building detailed models of commodity fundamentals as a basis for trading. Whilst his focus is grain, oilseed and sugar markets he has expertise modelling fundamentals of tree crops and has, over the years, established a deep understanding of the interactions between different commodity prices. He is a recognised expert in the fundamentals of cassava markets and how these relate to other carbohydrate crops.

Mr Bentley is a graduate of Trinity College, Oxford University and the London School of Economics. He lives in Singapore.

Henk Jaap Meijer

Mr. Henk Jaap Meijer is director and owner of Meijer Consult. He graduated in 1988 from State University Groningen in the Netherlands with a degree in Polymer Chemistry. During his career he has received several marketing programs.

Mr. Meijer has worked at AVEBE, the global market leader in potato starches, during 13 years on development of modified starches and potato based side stream products for food and technical applications. At BASF Plant Science he was involved in the development of applications for AMFLORA® amylopectin and high-amylose starches from genetically modified potatoes. From 2007 till 2014 Mr. Meijer worked as Director Marketing & Innovation at Emsland Group where he was responsible for amongst others product development and market introduction of the Empure® range clean label starches and dehydrated potatoes.

Meijer Consult develops innovations for the cassava, potato and starch modification and - processing industry. Clients are located in Europe, South East Asia, South America and Africa. With focus on starch modifications, food-fibre and protein production they support clients with their product development, application research and market introductions.

Mr. Meijer founded the LinkedIn CASSAVA group with more than 1.300 members worldwide. Daily cassava news and background information are a resource for the global cassava industry.

In 1991, she worked in Sanguan Wongse Co., Ltd in spare parts and gasoline business. In 1994 she was promoted to be Managing Director of Sanguan Wongse Industries Co., Ltd. In the past 20 years with starch quality mindset, SWI group has expanded market share continuously with 90% market in abroad. Sanguan Wongse Starch Co., Ltd. earned big market share in modified starch market, especially in paper application. In 2008, she developed Tapioca Fiber as functional fiber in food application with Lyckeby Culinar AB. and set up T-Fibre Innovation Co., Ltd. SWI can generate energy from waste water and wet fiber to biogas and electricity. Dr Jonathan Newby is an agricultural and rural development economist with over 10 years' experience working in Southeast Asia on a range agricultural development and livelihood projects. He holds an honours degree in Natural Resource Economics and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia. Since 2013 he has worked for the cassava program at the International Center for Tropical Agricultural (CIAT). He currently manages several projects on developing sustainable cassava value chains in Southeast Asia with activities in Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. He works as part of a multidisciplinary team identifying opportunities and constraints to enhancing livelihoods of smallholder cassava farmers through strengthening the linkages between farmers, industry, governments departments and research agencies.

He has been working for PPRI since 1996 after graduated from Vietnam National University of Agriculture in 1996.
He completed Master degree in 2004 and PhD degree in 2007 in Kobe University, Japan in the field of plant pathology and molecular biology; and had one year postdoctor in RIKEN Yokohama, Japan.
Dr. Hoat is now working on Cassava Mosaic Virus Disease in Vietnam.

Wanphen earned a master’s degree in biotechnology in 2002 from Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand and also worked for a total of 11 years as a researcher for the Cassava and Starch Technology Research Unit, Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro-industrial Product Improvement Institute (KAPI). She will complete her biotechnology PhD from Kasetsart University in 2019. Additionally, Ms. Weil was  QA manager at a textile factory for 6 years.  Wanphen has just returned to Thailand after two years as a visiting scholar at Kansas State University in the US, where she focused on the properties, structure and digestibility of pyrodextrins of the novel waxy tapioca starch.

Patrick is director of St1 Renewable Energy (Thailand) Ltd. a R&D and business development center for cassava waste ethanol business.
St1 is pioneer in waste to ethanol business and technology development. Company produces advanced bioethanol in its own plant fleet of various waste feedstocks. Focus of the R&D is turning lignocellulosic and waste feedstocks in to ethanol.

Jörgen Larsson, Swedish national and born in 1958, is co-owner and CEO of the Larsson Group. He studied mechanical engineering and graduated in 1978. Alter finishing the military service he started working in the family company, at that time named G. Larssons Mekaniska Verkstad AB.
Mr. Larsson started working full time in the family company in the end of 1979. He has worked on most of the positions in the company: production, designing, developing, commissioning, sales, etc. 1999 Mr. Larsson became the majority owner and the CEO of the company. Today the group consists of a number of companies: Larssons i Barum AB (holding company), G. Larsson Starch Technology AB, G. Larsson Drying Technology AB, G. Larsson Dewatering AB and VK Mekaniska AB.
Since 1994 Mr. Larsson is also Board Member of Hema Rostfritt AB, supplier and long-time business partner of G. Larsson Starch Technology AB.
