Prior to joining CARBIOS, Martin Stephan held several senior international positions at Du Pont de Nemours, Chemours and at the chemical branch of the French Oil & Gaz major, Total. He worked in France, Germany, Italy and in Switzerland, where he is currently residing.
Martin Stephan holds a Master in Business Economics from HEC in Paris and a BA in Economics from Paris II university.

After an initial stint of approx. 9.0 years in Packaging development at Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd joined the Personal care division of Hindustan Lever Ltd as ‘Packaging development Manager. Was involved in various development roles in the company before becoming the ‘Regional Packaging Director - South Asia’ for the organization. As Regional Packaging Director was responsible for the leading the overall Packaging design, deploy and Capability building agenda for the company.
In 2011 moved to Singapore as the ‘Regional Procurement Director’ in Unilever responsible the strategic sourcing of Rigid plastics, glass and metal for Asia, Africa, Turkey and CEE counties. His final stint at Unilever was as ‘Global Procurement Director for Packaging Feedstocks and Tea Packaging ‘based out of Dubai. This role involved setting up an organization for driving a strong strategic program around the key ’Packaging feedstocks’ used by the Company.
After a long stint in Unilever Gagan moved to Bangalore in October 2016 and is currently driving the Global Packaging development strategy for ‘The Himalaya Drug Company’ as the ‘Head of Packaging Development’ for the Pharma, Personal care, Wellness, Functional foods, Baby care, Mother care and Animal Health care business of the company.

Joost Hurenkamp


Joost Hurenkamp (R&D Project Leader) is in charge of new product development projects at Holland Colours in the Netherlands. These projects are related to additive and colorant concentrates for use in food contact packaging and cover all aspects from proof of concept to upscaling to commercial launch. Joost Hurenkamp has a PhD in Organic chemistry from the University of Groningen-The Netherlands.
