Scholar of the Confederation of British Industry for training in food technology . Joined Industrias Penoles, Mexico’s largest mining group, as Sales Manager for Chemical Division 5 years in Mexico, 4 in the New York office, then became New Project Manager until 1988.

In 1989 moved to Continental Can Company, to lead the project to produce PET containers in Mexico, with new technology for reusable returnable bottles. After the break-up of the company started the project with new ownership and was Sales Director for Latin America for Continental PET Technologies until 2001.

During this time lead a group of companies to form APREPET, an industry association devoted to promote recycling and responsible use of PET, and became first chairman in 1995.

After leaving Continental PET, moved to be APREPET’s General Manager until the association was shut-down in 2008.

Since 2009 is an independent consultant in the area of sustainability and PET recycling, has worked as Senior Consultant for PCI- Wood Mackenzie until 2017 and since 2012 as coordinator for the Recyclers Committee within ECOCE.

After getting his examination as Graduation Engineering Plastics Technology in Germany1992, Thomas Herkert joined Krauss Maffei AG as a Sales Manager for Polyurethan Machinery and Plants until 1997.

From 1997 until 1999 Thomas startet into the Beverage Industrie as a Sales Manager from Krupp Corpoplast, today known as KHS company for PET Strech Blow moulding machines.

Since 1999 he moved to Switzerland and became employeed at Netstal-Maschinen AG.

Starting as a Area Sales Manager for Business Unit PET, he covered several areas like Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, South- Middle and North Americas.

Since 2016 he is appointed as a Key Account Manager PET Systems for several Multinational companies worldwide.

Ms Maritza is a member and Board of Directors participants in Professional Associations such as Mexican Association of Packaging (Treasurer), Mexican Association of Executive Women (Member at large), Institute of Food Technologies/ Packaging Division (Member at large), Centro Politecnico de Proyeccion (Board Advisor)

2019 Economic Outlook for Mexico

As a professional economist, Arnulfo has analyzed various macroeconomic, financial, regional and sectoral issues related to the Mexican economy. After having graduated from the PhD program in economics at The University of Texas at Austin in 2004, Arnulfo worked for the central bank of Mexico as an Economic Researcher. His main tasks there, besides doing research, consisted of organizing international conferences, coordinating regional economists from all over the country and representing the central bank in the committee responsible for the seasonal adjustment of the main economic time series released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

 

He has published numerous papers in prestigious international academic journals. His teaching experience includes The University of Texas at Austin, St. Edward’s University and the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE). Arnulfo earned a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) and graduated with the highest honors (Mención de Excelencia) in 1995. Currently at BBVA Bancomer, he is in charge of analyzing regional and sectoral issues of key relevance to the Mexican economy

As a specialist in spinning systems with polyester fibers and blends of this with other natural and synthetic fibers with knowledge of polyester fiber manufacturing processes, he has participated in developments and improvement of new products for Arteva Specialties (Invista before Grupo KoSa) and today for Alpek Polyester.


Through his continuous visits to customers and provision of technical assistance for process improvement and quality control, he has gained extensive knowledge of textile factories in USA, Mexico, Central and South America
