Wim De Donder graduated from KU LEUVEN with a Degree in Master of Business Economics. His area of academic specialization was production and logistics. He has a broad experience in supply chain management in several companies. In his current job at DS TEXTILEPLATFORM, he is responsible for the sourcing of all raw materials with a special attention to Recycled PET.

Karla Magruder

Karla Magruder has been in the textile industry for more than 25 years with global experience from fiber to finished garments.  She founded Fabrikology International, a textile consulting firm, specializing in sustainable textile sourcing, education and business development in 2003.  The company has worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors in building strategic development plans and developing and launching new products,Karla has led her team in supporting the development of trade between US brands and retailers and garment manufacturers from Haiti and Africa through USAID sponsored programs.  She has worked as a Textile Exchange Ambassador with the mission of facilitating the acceleration of sustainable practices in the textile value chain.

Nicolas Jacquel

Nicolas Jacquel holds a Master degree from Lyon School of Chemistry, Physics and Electronics (CPE Lyon, France) and a PhD in material science from Lyon Institute of Applied Science (INSA Lyon).

His background includes over than ten years of experience in both industrial or academic research laboratories, working on topics related to polyesters and bio-based polymers (i.e. polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) and PET). Since 2011, he is in charge of the polycondensation laboratory at Roquette (Lestrem, France) and works on the development of new solutions based on isosorbide.

Steve Wong

Steve founded Fukutomi Company Limited in 1984 Being one of the leading players in the plastic recycling industry, Fukutomi operates in both trading and processing globally with its well-established networks and affiliates worldwide. As the Executive President of China Scrap Plastics Association, Steve liaises between the government, the recycling industry and shares his experiences and visions at different conferences in which he promotes “close the loop”, “blue economy” and circular economy as his visions for the long term sustainability of the world and a green environment needed by our future generations.

Alisdair originally pursued a career in sport, however by the time he reached University this had become unrealistic.  After graduating with a 2:1 from Oxford Brookes, he worked in a variety of sales jobs where he developed upon the skills he picked up from playing sport from a young age.  He now runs the Business Development division at Garçon Wines, focusing primarily on sales and product development.

Roberto Sommi has a degree in Economics and a Master Degree in Cost Controlling Management. In his 20 years career, he spent the last 15 in the business of industrial equipment for Process and Packaging for Food and Beverage. Antonello Ciotti is a graduated engineer from the University of Florence with a MBA degree from the Bocconi University in Milano. Mr. Edward Kosior

Edward Kosior has been an innovator and academic in Plastics and Rubber technology for the past 40 years. He is the Managing Director of NEXTEK Ltd that was established in 2004 which provides technical advisory services to brand-owners and recycling companies, designs recycling plants for food-grade plastics and develops novel technologies for the plastics packaging industry.

He holds several patents for recycling processes and is Honorary Professor, at the Wolfson Centre for Material Processing, Brunel University London

Jim Millis

Jim Millis has served as Chief Technology Officer for BioAmber Inc., a bio-based chemical company since 2010, during which time the company completed a successful IPO in 2013, built and is now operating the world’s largest succinic acid manufacturing plant in Sarnia, Ontario. Mr. Millis has worked in the field of industrial biotechnology for over 30 years. Prior to joining BioAmber, Mr. Millis served as CEO of Draths from 2007-2009 and as Technical Director for Cargill's Industrial Bioproducts business unit from 2001-2007. Mr. Millis has been involved in the commercial development and scale-up of several technologies, spanning biotechnology, chemical catalysis and material science, and has more than 20 issued U.S. patents
