PROFILE

.Mark leads GE Equity Asia Pacific ("GEEAP") across the region, overseeing all private equity investment operations. Mark joined GEEAP in 2000 and rose quickly to become the head of the platform in 2006. During his tenure, Mark has led GEEAP to become one of the best performing PE platforms in the region, consistently outperforming the industry top quartile benchmarks by 3x.

 

Established in 1997, GEEAP is a highly successful pan-Asian private equity platform sponsored by General Electric, a global diversified leader in energy, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, and financial services. GEEAP is a mid-to-late stage, growth capital platform and is one of the most seasoned, unique PE platforms in the region. GEEAP's core strategy is to bring the very best of GE's operational and management practices to innovative, high growth companies across Asia Pacific.

 

Mark is a well-respected figure in the Asian private equity industry and has been a regularly featured speaker at numerous private equity and investment conferences. Mark is also a regular guest professor on private equity at the Northwestern Kellogg HKUST business school.

 

Prior to joining GE, Mark was the co-founder of a software company targeting the real estate industry in China. Prior to that, Mark was an investment banker covering principal investments and derivative structuring for Bankers Trust in New York, Tokyo and Seoul.

 

Mark holds a BA with Honors in Economics from Harvard University and an Executive MBA from Northwestern Kellogg HKUST. Mark was a U.S. Presidential Scholar and a U.S. Byrd Congressional Scholar.
