U. Thinn Maung
-U Thinn Maung is the Vice Chairman of HTOO Group of Companies. He joined HTOO Group in 2007 as an Advisor. He has served 33 years under Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development, and retired in 2000, and his last position held as the Director, Department of Foreign Investment, Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (mostly known as the MIC Office). Since then, he was appointed as the Advisor of Myanmar Economic Corporation. He obtained Bachelor of Economics from Yangon Institute of Economics, Master of Economics from University of New England, Australia, and Master of Business Law from Yangon University. He is a founding member of Myanmar Institute of Economics Graduates Association, serving first as the Vice Chairman and then as the Chairman before his retirement in 2009. He is still serving there as the Patron. Since 2011, he has been serving as the member of Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) Commission for Assessment of Legal Affairs and Special Issues.

Ms. Moe Thida obtained her Master in Public Policy from Tokyo University in 2012 and Master of Public Administration from Institute of Economics, Yangon in 2010. She is currently the Assistant Director for Estate Section under the Department of Human Settlement and Housing Development, Ministry of Construction. She is responsible for the supervision of operational functions of rental housing in major cities. She also propose policy improvement for rental housing and cooperate with international organizations for institutional improvement.

Dr . Thant Myint U
Dr Thant Myint-U is the Chairman of the Yangon Heritage Trust, a member of the President of Myanmar's National Economic and Social Advisory Council, and a Special Adviser to the Myanmar Peace Centre. He also serves in a number of other board and advisery roles. He was educated at Harvard and Cambridge Univeristies and from 1996-2000 taught modern history as a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge. He has in addition served on three United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (Cambodia 1992-3, Yugoslavia 1994-6) and with the UN Secretariat in New York, including as the Chief of Policy Planning in the Department of Political Affairs. He is the author of three critically-acclaimed and best-selling books (most recently Where China Meets India: Burma and the New Crossroads of Asia) and dozens of articles and book chapters.

Mr. Antony Picon
Tony is Managing Director of Colliers International Myanmar, the first international real estate consultants to set up in the country. Tony was responsible for the first ever Yangon property research report in 2011 and has been active in the country for the past three years. He was previously running the Colliers Thailand research team producing reports for Bangkok, Pattaya, Samui and Hua Hin as well as the first property report for Vientiane in Laos. In previous lives he was head of research for Ho Chi Minh City, owned his own publishing business in Hong Kong, worked for the Libyan Football Federation as well as being a corporate trainer for Siemens and Airbus Industrie in Germany.

Mr. Richard Leech

-Richard is the Executive Director of CB Richard Ellis (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. He coordinates all activities for CBRE in the North of Vietnam including new business development, client relations, property management, and brokerage. In addition, Richard is also responsible for all retail activities in the Indochina region which includes Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar with a specialized staff of over 20 retail consultants.


Mr. Leech joined Garlick’s Department Store in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1986. There, he spent 5 years in merchandising and marketing before leaving for a career in shopping centre management with Southern Life Properties, a subsidiary of Anglo American Properties. In 1993 Mr. Leech joined the Retail Portfolio Management Department of Colliers in Johannesburg. His duties involved the management of his clients’ retail properties in South Africa. Mr. Leech joined developer Stocks & Stocks, Johannesburg, in 1997 as a Property Portfolio Manager, managing clients’ retail and commercial properties in Southern Africa. Richard has been responsible for the development, leasing and management of many significant retail/commercial real estate projects in Southern Africa, and more recently in SE Asia over the last twenty years.


Richard gained a Certificate in Shopping Centre Management and an Advanced Certificate in Shopping Centre Leadership at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa and served on the South African Council of Shopping Centre’s and has a Certificate in Estate Agency.

Dr . Sandar Htun
-Dr Sandar has more than 10 years of experience in managing several business lines within the group. She has shaped the development and management of the “Junction” brand of shopping centres into one of the largest owner-operator of shopping centre in Myanmar .  The group’s latest project, Junction Square has become a landmark shopping leisure and entertainment venue in Yangon within one year of opening.  Dr Sandar also oversees the operations of the Junction Cineplexes, one of the largest cinema operators in Myanmar.  Concurrently, she is playing a leading role in the development of the next wave of quality large-scale projects by Shwe Taung Group that will transform the living, working and leisure environment in Yangon. Dr Sandar holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Technology, School of Management of Bangkok, Thailand.  She obtained her first degree in the Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery  from the Institute of Medicine of Yangon.

Mr. Andrew Langdon
-Andrew Langdon has been based in Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels' Thailand office, where he joined as Senior Vice President to undertake hotel advisory work, valuations and hotel investment and development site sales throughout the Indochina region, encompassing Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. He has focused on the provision of valuations and strategic advisory services including market studies, financial feasibilities, operator selection and hotel contract negotiation and project consultancy in the hotels, resorts and tourism sector of the industry. Andrew has a Bachelor of Business in Valuation and Land Administration from Queensland University.

Mr. Victor Pang
-Singaporean, Victor Pang joined Accor at the Novotel Singapore. He subsequently moved to Thailand where he held several operational positions with Accor hotels and thereafter was given a regional role for Accor as Marketing Manager, Asia. Victor returned to operations in 1994, assuming General Manager Positions in various Accor hotels throughout Thailand and Vietnam. Victor returned to Thailand in 2000, taking on a development role for the group and is currently Vice-President, Development – Asia for Accor Asia Pacific based in Bangkok.

Mr. Frank Janmaat
-Frank Janmaat is leading the seven properties of the KMA hotel Division. After hotel management studies in the Netherlands, his home country, he has been working internationally in the hospitality and hospitality related businesses for over 30 years. Before working with KMA Hotel Group, he managed two of the leading hotels in Yangon and is an ExCom member of the Myanmar Marketing Committee. Recently Frank Janmaat initiated the start-up of the first hotel consultancy in Myanmar. Lighthouse Hospitality has the technical, professional and experience in the International hotel industry and a profound understanding of Myanmar culture, customs and business practices. The consultancy is offering services to prospective (foreign) investors in the Myanmar hospitality Industry, making assessments to existing hotel to make sure that these hotels will live up to the, increased, expectations of their guests and to ensure a competitive position in the future. Lighthouse is also managing the new future KMA projects in Ngapali, Inle and Shwe Pyi.

Mr. Edwin Vanderbruggen
Edwin is one of Myanmar’s leading foreign lawyers, particularly recognized for his experience with large transactions. He was formerly with Loyens & Loeff and a partner at DFDL. He has 20 years of experience as a lawyer, academic and government adviser, including six years of experience on Myanmar tax and investment issues. Edwin advises on some of the largest investment projects in Myanmar, such as the acquisition of oil and gas interests, the tender for telecom licenses, major infrastructure projects, and power plants. He lives full-time in Yangon, where he leads a team of 20 lawyers and tax advisers. In his academic career, he has lectured at 6 prestigious universities in Europe and Asia, and written 7 textbooks and over 40 scholarly articles some of which won scientific awards.

Sebastian is a partner of PWP. After having obtained law degrees in Germany and Japan, he started his professional career in a Big Four accountancy firm before working as an associate in the corporate and tax department of a well-regarded British law firm in Germany. Before joining PWP and relocating to Myanmar, he was the head of the Ho Chi Minh City office of a leading German law firm. -Thurane Aung (Christopher) obtained his BA (Hons) in Business Information Management & Finance from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom. He is the New Business Development Director (Dagon Group of Companies) and Operations Director (Dagon International Ltd.). Christopher joined Dagon group of Companies in 2002. Dagon Group of Companies is one of the leading local conglomerate in emerging Myanmar with its diversified businesses, covering from property development and construction, hospitality, timber, agriculture, commodity trading, plantation, retail and distribution, petroleum, automobile and food processing. He is responsible for Business strategies and expansion plans for all of Dagon Group's businesses, including identifying new real estate and construction projects. Christopher has experience of setting up new companies including foreign joint ventures to the execution and successful completion of projects. He is actively leading and working on feasibility of expansion into new industries in Myanmar through new business set up, privatization and acquisition.

Murli Metharam, graduated in Finance, joined the French Bouygues Construction Group in 1989. He has been involved in projects in Hong Kong, Nigeria and Vietnam with different challenging environments in the building and water treatment fields. He had occupied various positions from Project Cost Control to Project Management before taking responsibilities in the Business Development team since 2006.
