Dr. Myat Thu
-Dr. Myat Thu obtained his bachelor degree in Agricultural Science, majoring in Entomology from the Yezin Agricultural University, Myanmar in 1998. In 1999, he was selected as one of the trainee for a one-year training course on Tropical Agriculture in Israel because of his outstanding scores in his BS. After the training in Israel, he was promoted to Assistant Supervisor at Nyaung Hna Pin Vegetable Special Zone under Plant Protection Division, Hmaw Be Township, Yangon division. In November 2001, he returned to Yezin Agricultural University to pursue his master degree and obtained his Master in Agricultural Science in Entomology in 2004. Meanwhile, the MOAI promoted him as Assistant Manager at Shwe Du Rubber Research and Cloning Estate under Myanmar Perennial Crops Enterprise. In June 2007, he obtained a SEAMEO-SEARCA Scholarship to pursue his Ph.D study program in Entomology at the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos (UPLB). He became a regular member of The Philippine Association of Entomologist, Inc. in 2009.
