David has spent most of his 30 year career in various resource, forest products, plantations, paper and manufacturing industries, in operating, senior management and consulting roles, originally as a chemical engineer. He has many years consulting experience in the CSR area and also in the community development field. He has lived for nearly the last 10 years in Asia, and has been based for the last 7+ years in Myanmar, initially as head of large humanitarian agency. In 2007 he also founded local group Spectrum in Myanmar for policy work and service delivery in sustainable development, natural resource management, transparency, community engagement, and environment. He consults on various areas of business strategy, implementation, conflict and risk reduction, with specialisation in the energy, minerals and agri-business sectors. Specific focus is on sustainable development practice, conflict prevention and social license to operate in Myanmar. David is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
