.Chris  de Lavigne is Frost & Sullivan's Global Vice-President of Consulting for  the Industrial Practice. He has been with Frost & Sullivan for over 15 years  and  was  previously  head of consulting for the Industrial Group in Frost  & Sullivan’s European offices for 6 years (Paris and London), before moving  to  the  Malaysia  then Singapore office.

Frank Roland Schroeder received his diploma in Chemistry from the University of Goettingen, Germany. Following his PhD thesis in biochemistry at the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine, he joined Henkel in 1985. Until 1991 he worked in various biotechnological research functions in Germany and Japan. Subsequently he joined the department of Ecology, focussing onenvironmental exposure analysis including environmental modelling and monitoring of environmentally relevant substances. Currently he is Corporate Director and head of the sustainability/product safety department of the laundry and home care business unit of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA

Ahmad Sidek Stroo is a graduate in Applied Economics from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Master of Business Administration  (MBA) majoring in Marketing from Oklahoma City University, USA. Prior to joining MPOB (then PORIM) in 1986, he worked with Agricultural Bank of Malaysia since 1977 and his last post was as a Branch Manager. Currently, he is the Deputy Director General (Services), MPOB. His areas of interest are management, trade and market developments, economic research, licensing, enforcement,  quality control, financial management, banking, credit management, human resource management and human development, and implementing policies and development programmes such as National Key Economics Area (NKEA).  He has more than 35 years’ working  experience in the various semi government agencies and the palm oil industry. He is also a Board  Member of  various working committee in semi-government  agencies such as Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and Malaysian Agricultural Research & Development Institute (MARDI).

Scott Stanley

Scott has more than 25 years of forestry experience, specifically related to tropical silviculture in natural forest, forest inventory and statistical analysis, tropical ecology, community forestry, and protected area design and management. In 2006, Scott began working with REDD, starting with the 750,000 ha Ulu Masen FFI REDD Project in Aceh and going on to provide technical support to the Rimba Raya REDD Project adjacent to Tanjung Puting NP, among various other projects. 
Currently he is the Managing Director and Founder of Forest Carbon Consultants, a consulting company that specializes in the design, management, and monitoring of forest-based carbon projects, and in providing FSC certification support services to the forest industry. In this position he draws upon his many years of experience in tropical silvicultural, forest inventory design, statistical analysis, and GIS and remote sensing analysis of spatial data.

Mr. John Clendon

John Clendon

John Clendon is the Managing Director of Univanich Palm Oil PCL, which is Thailand’s largest palm oil producer and the winner of many awards as Thailand’s best performing company in the Agriculture Sector.

The Univanich’s Oil Palm Research Centre in southern Thailand is recognized internationally for its pioneering work in oil palm agronomy and in oil palm breeding.  Hybrid oil palm seeds from the Univanich breeding program are now exported to growers in more than fifteen countries around the world.

John Clendon is a graduate in Agricultural Management from Lincoln University in New Zealand.  For the past 37 years he has worked in Asia’s plantation industry, first as a manager in Unilever’s Plantations and Plant Science Group, then for the past 18 years as Managing Director of Univanich Palm Oil in Thailand.

Mohammad Jaafar

Mr. Mohammad Jaaffar is the Chief Executive Officer of PORAM effective end of July 2010. Prior to that he worked for the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) for the last 20 years. His last posting was in Brickendonbury office in Hertford, UK as the Regional Manager for MPOB Europe. He was responsible for the overall technical and market developments of Malaysian palm oil in Europe. Earlier to that he was the Regional Manager and Scientific Attache for MPOB Americas based in the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington D.C, USA. Mr. Jaaffar started his career as Plantation Assistant with Sime Darby Plantation Berhad before pursuing his BSc. in Agriculture Business and later MBA in International Trade, both in the USA. Mr. Jaaffar returned to Malaysian in January 2009 and join the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, a Government owned company responsible in developing a biotechnology industry in the country.

Tin Htut Oo holds a Bachelor of Agriculture from Agriculture University, Mandalay and M.Sc (Agricultural Economics) from Ohio State University. Currently, he is Chief Executive Officer with Agribusiness and Rural Development Consultants (ARDC) and Myanmar Agri-Tech Co., Ltd. (MAGT).

U Tin Htut Oo is the Chairman of the National Economic and Social Advisory Council of the Union of Myanmar. From 2001 to 2009 he was Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Planning, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, Myanmar; and before that held posts in the same department from 1994.

In his capacity with the UN and international organizations, he is working as a Team Leader for Agricultural Productivity and Natural Resources Management thematic area under the ADBI-ASEAN Prospect on Supporting Equitable Economic Development in ASEAN. He served as Senior Advisor to the Special Unit on Countries with Special Needs, Office of the Executive Secretary, UNESCAP from 2009-2011.

Tin Htut Oo has published a variety of scientific papers related to agriculture in Myanmar and in developing countries, and has received government awards for his work, including the Good Public Service Medal (1998), and the Excellent Performance in Administrative Field, Second Class (2001) and First Class (2002).

Bjorn Dahlen

Bjorn Dahlen graduated from the University of California at Davis, with a combined undergraduate degree in anthropology and geography. He also completed his graduate work at UC Davis, with a master’s degree in geography, specialization in remote sensing and GIS. He is also a licensed ATPL pilot and has conducted airborne science research projects around the World. Working in close collaboration with the Copenhagen Zoo, he has coordinated the establishment of United Plantation’s Biodiversity Division and currently serves as the Biodiversity Manager for the UP’s estates in Indonesia. He is also the Executive Director of Green Harvest Environmental Sdn. Bhd. in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia which provides environmental planning and management services to plantations throughout the region.  Bjorn has twenty-two years of natural resource management experience and has developed precision agriculture management programmes in the USA and Southeast Asia.
