Miguel G. Guerrero is full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Sevilla (Spain), and develops his research activity at the the Instituto de Bioquimica Vegetal y Fotosíntesis (IBVF) - Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis, a Joint Research Center established between the University of Seville and CSIC, the Spanish Research Council. Currently, he is the Head of the Microalgal Biotechnology group at IBVF.
He has a long-standing research experience on Biochemistry, Physiology and Genetics of photosynthetic microorganisms. His activity in Microalgal Biotechnology extends for over 30 years, and includes experience in outdoor culture and production of biomass and valuable compounds (phycobiliproteins, carotenoids, biofuels’ feedstocks) by microalgae and cyanobacteria.
He has over one hundred articles published in scientific journals and books. Formerly, he was the Head of University Department, Research Institute and Vice-president of CSIC.
