Prof. Sangyong Kim

Sangyong Kim has played an active role of research project leader and planner in the field of energy and environment over 20 years in South Korea. His responsibilities include new project development, research consortium directing, project planning and evaluation. As a PM or PD, Kim has directed Renewable Chemical Center, Industrial Ecology Lab and Industrial Biotechnology Lab to lead the relevant research programs. Dr. Kim has worked for a number of challenging PPP type projects focused in the area of biobased chemical and fuel production such as biobased diacids, furanics, bioplastics and biodiesel. He holds Master’s and PhD degrees in environmental reaction engineering and biochemical engineering from the University of Tulsa and New Mexico State University, respectively.
