After holding  management position in the banking industry at chevy chase bank USA, Mr. Kabore joined cimmetal group as director of sales in 2012 , and became head of project management in 2013 where he led the first project of the group to completion. Since 2014, he is the Managing Director of Cimfaso and senior project advisor for the group.

https://www.cmtevents.com/EVENTDATAS/180415/speakers/LatfallahLayousse.jpgMr. Latfallah LAYOUSSE is the Chairman and CEO of  LES CIMENTS DU SAHEL S.A which he founded in 1999. Mr. Layousse tripled the cement capacity from 1 million ton in 2002 to 3 million ton in 2009.

 

Mr. Layousse  is also the Chairman and CEO of Fauzie Layousse-GFL Group, whose activities began in Senegal in 1927 with the import and distribution of food products. Under the leadership of Mr. Layousse, the company has moved towards the transportation of goods with a current fleet of 150 large vehicles. In 1971, he started SOSECAR – Senegalese Company of Quarry Exploitation specialized in the production of ballast, aggregates and sand. Later, he expanded a 2nd company, COGECA – Compagnie Generale d’Exploitation des Carrieres) and it took over the activities of SOSECAR’s activities. He also founded Malian Company of Quarry Exploitation (SOMECAR)  in 2004.

 

In addition to the above companies, he is also the founder of New Cement of Benin SA (NOCIBE) in Benin and SAM Airways – SAS specializes in transportation of person and goods.

Mr. Luk Haelterman

Luk Haelterman is Dangote's Country Head for Senegal. After completing his Master studies as a Commercial Engineer at the University of Brussels (Solvay Business School), Luk started his career as a consultant with Andersen.


In the last 30 years, Luk has been actively involved in different industrial and international manufacturing corporations as Managing, Executive or Non-Executive Director. His area of specialization has been the basic industry, amongst others construction, nonferrous, steel, wood, cement,.... His expertise has also been demonstrated in managing green field projects to delivering the results (mainly in different countries in Africa), as well as in restructuring businesses on the downturn to a new live (mostly in Europe). 


He obtained further degrees a.o. a Master after Master in Construction... He was a member of various workgroups (Federation of Belgian Industries, Fabrimetal - metal using companies in Belgium -, trustee of Fezoman -Nigerian Federation of Free Export Zone Managers-,...) and lectured at different institutions (University of Brussels, Institute of Accountants Belgium, Covenant University Nigeria...). He was nominated as an official Consultant of the French Republic on Foreign Trade and was founder and president of the Belgian Business Leaders in Nigeria. 


Luk lived in various countries in Europe and Africa for longer periods and was an active member of various society circles. In his younger years he also played volleyball on the highest Belgian level.

Mr. Finn Arnoldsen

Finn Arnoldsen graduated from Norwegian Institute of Technology with a Master of Science Degree in Combustion Engineering. He has been working within the cement industry more than 30 years in various managerial positions and mainly in and with cement operations in Africa. He joined the Nigerian business conglomerate BUA Group in 2009 to build up the Group’s cement business and was the Managing Director of EDO Cement until 2017. He is presently the Group COO overseeing the existing operations & pursuing further expansion projects within and outside Nigeria.

Mr. Youga SOW has 22 years of professional experience and he is trained at the Institute of Earth Sciences (Insitut des Sciences de la Terre) of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar as a Geological engineer. Mr. Youga SOW also holds a MBA in Corporate Strategy.

 

After an early career in mining industry, as well as a civil servant with the  Ministry of Mines, he became a member of the VICAT Group for 15 years where he moved from the senegalese aggregates' branch in 2008 to cement Business SOCOCIM Industries where he hold different positions:  quarry manager, then Deputy General Manager. He is  the General Manger of SOCOCIM Industries SA since Oct 2012.

He was in charge of Operations of  the Venezuelan subsidiary then Deputy CEO of Lafarge Algeria’s industrial activities. Xavier held the position of Fuel procurement Director for the LafargeHolcim group in 2014 before his appointment as LafargeHolcim Côte d’Ivoire Country CEO in 2016. He is the brand new Côte d’Ivoire cement producers association President, APCCI, since september 2017.

Mr. Ronald Ndegwa

Ronald Ndegwa is the current Managing Director of Savannah Cement, a state of the art, eco-friendly cement grinding plant located in Athi-River, Kenya.


Prior to his appointment in December 2013, Ndegwa had accumulated a wealth of knowledge spanning over 15 years' in the manufacturing sector as a supply chain specialist during which time he had held various senior management roles and had overall responsibility over a wide range of assets and activities. He has also been extensively involved in Strategic operations planning and business development. He is renowned for innovation and operational efficiency.


He was instrumental in the turnaround of the supply chain functions in the oil, alcoholic beverages and soda ash sectors having worked with Caltex Kenya, East African Breweries as the Group Head of Supply Chain & Logistics and with Magadi Soda, a member of the giant Tata Group, as the Director of Supply Chain.


At Savannah Cement, Ndegwa has committed his energies to deliver top line growth anchored on an ambitious double digit growth in the medium term. He is also actively leading efforts to double the current production capacity, and at the same time championing efforts to establish a clinkerisation plant. Under Ronald’s leadership Savannah Cement won East Africa Business Council’s (E.A.B.C) Best East African Company- Building and Construction 2018 award and was 2nd runners up for Best East African Company – Innovation category. 


Ronald is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi and also holds a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management from South Africa's Damelin Management School.

Fernando is currently the Sales Manager in charge of the CEMENGAL´s operations in Middle East and African Regions. Thanks to his personal skills and deep international network, Fernando has reached major achievements for CEMENGAL with regards to market penetration, increase of key accounts and project references.

 

In   In the past, Fernando has been involved as a Project Manager on the construction of a FTK grinding station for LAFARGE Tanger BK6, Morocco. He also worked as a Project Manager for several industrial, mining and consultancy projects based in London, Madrid, Bahrain and Dubai Offices.

 

H    He completed his Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) at Instituto de Empresa, IE Business School, Madrid, Spain in 2011 and his degree in Industrial Engineer MEng at the University of Saragossa (Spain).  He has lived for professional reasons in the United Kingdom, Spain, Morocco and in the Middle East Region (Bahrain and Dubai).

Founder of Marvel Int. Mng & Trans. Co. Ltd. , Mr. Levent Karacelik was born in Bartin – Turkey. After graduating from istanbul university - law faculty  with a master degree on maritime law. He worked in a private shipping company as assistant manager of chartering department from 1972 till 1980.

 

He worked as a founder partner and CEO of Marti Group between 1980 – 1988.  After 1988, seperated from  Marti shipping and operated as marti chartering untill 1998 when he established Marvel.

 

Marvel as a group gives services such as ; ship owning, ship operating, consultancy, port agency, logistics and forwarding, epc services for solar energy projects, ship sales and purchase and new building design & contract activities via different companies in the group. Marvel is also a very active trader for cement, clinker , scrap, slag, bauxid ex. Turkey and acting as trade broker for some turkish cement producers.

 

Mr. Karacelik has 43 years experience in shipping / chartering/ shipowning. He has represented turksh shipping community as the turkish delegate in organisations like bimco & fonasba for many years. He has been very active as a conference speaker and taken part as a speaker over 20 international cement, coal, grain  conferences.

 

He has been the vice president of b.o.d. of chamber of shipping for 8 years and Vice President of the assembley of the chamber of shipping for 4 years and Vice President of Turkish Shipowners Association for 4 years where he is a member of the board since 1985. He is married and  father of a son and a daughter.

He studied mechanical engineering in Paderborn and obtained the degree of a Graduate Engineer. After 1,5 years as project engineer in an Engineering company for the cement industry, he worked for 13 years as Head of Project Group in a company for grinding technology for the cement industry.

 

Since he became General Manager of Intercem Engineering in 2005, Olaf Michelswirth could apply his expertise and experience in many projects all over the world. The current projects are semi-turnkey cement plants in Burkina Faso (Cimfaso, Cimasso) and Ivory Coast (Cim Ivoire). Recent projects were the upgrade of a cement plant to 2200 tpd and a cement plant with 2400 tpd in UAE, installation of a 90tph grinding plant in Uganda on semi turn-key basis, the turn-key installation of a cement plant revamping in Tanzania, a kiln inlet sealing in the DR Congo, projects in Iran, Tunisia, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Armenia and many others.

Mr. Ousmane Cisse

Prior to his appointment at the Senegalese Ministry of Mines as the National Director of Mines & Geology, Mr. Ousmane CISSE worked as Technical Specialist with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Project for Capacity Development for Negotiating and Regulating Investment Contracts to strengthen the long-term institutional capacity of some African countries to negotiate contracts and manage related large-scale natural resources investment projects. 

 

Mr CISSE has been involved in many international projects related to the mining sector. He has been selected as a Person Resource by the United Nations Economic Commission of Africa (UNECA) to review the mineral law and policy of some selected West and North African countries, by Oxford Policy Management to review issues and challenges in the design and application of minerals taxation regimes. Also, he served as a National Expert at the Economic Commission for West Africa States to prepare the draft document of the ECOWAS Directive on the Harmonization of Guiding Principles and Policies in the Mining Sector.

 

Mr. CISSE is a Geologist Engineer and also completed a MBA degree in General Management and a Master of Laws – Mineral Law & Policy

He has 14 years of experience in finance, private equity and clean energy, including the development of sustainable energy finance solutions, capital project appraisals and market assessments, with emphasis on economic and financial modeling.
