SPEAKER PROFILE

Dr. Deden Nurochman is a distinguished civil servant serving as Head of the Sub-Directorate for Structuring Forest Product Processing at the Directorate General of Sustainable Production Forest Management (PHL) under the Ministry of Forestry. Holding a Doctorate in Forest Management, he has established himself as a key figure in advancing forest governance policy, with a strong focus on sustainability and institutional strengthening within the forestry sector.

 

He has actively represented Indonesia in various prominent international forums, including as a delegate and speaker at the AFoCO Meeting in Mongolia (2025), a delegate to the ITTC 60 Council Meeting in Yokohama, Japan (2024), and a delegate to the UNFCCC Meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (2023). His engagement in these platforms reflects his commitment to fostering international cooperation and contributing to global environmental governance.

 

In addition to his policy work, Dr. Deden has made significant intellectual contributions through a number of publications, including the Roadmap for Carbon Trading in the Forestry Sector (2023) and the Information Book on Forest Utilization Business Licensing Services in Protected and Production Forests (2022). He also contributed to Traces of the Book – Series 2: Women Working to Achieve the Dream of a Prosperous Community and Sustainable Forests (2022), and authored a policy strategy on sustainable sandalwood management (2020). His unwavering dedication plays a pivotal role in advancing the integration of sustainable development principles into forestry management and policy frameworks in Indonesia.
