Mr. Kawamoto has over 40 years of experience in the coal industry, including procurement, trading, mine development, and business operations at Idemitsu Kosan.

He has been actively leading the commercialization of biocoal (black pellets) and founded the Japan Black Pellet Forum, engaging major utilities and industrial users across Japan.

Currently, he is driving the market development of EFB-based white pellets and biocoal as next-generation fuels compatible with existing coal infrastructure.

He is also actively involved in ISO/TC238, contributing to the standardization of quality specifications and testing methods for solid biofuels and biocarbon.
