Mr. Nakahara joined one of Japan’s leading power companies, where he served for 17 years as a financial & contract Manager, contributing to thermal and waste-to-energy power generation projects. Since joining Idemitsu in 2022, he has been engaged in project development of black pellet across Southeast Asian countries and currently works in the Business Planning Section, overseeing project planning.

Greg Aznarez is Founder and Director of Greenfield LLC, a U.S.-based company connecting sustainable forest resources from the Americas to markets around the world.

Mr. Aznarez began his career at the Port of Savannah, developing export operations for wood pellet and woodchip shipments, before joining China National Forest Products Corporation, where he led timber projects across North and South America.
He holds a degree in International Logistics and Supply Chain from Universidad de la Empresa in Uruguay and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Max started his career with KOEN's coal procurement in 2012, where he was involved in coal purchasing, logistics arrangement, and supply & demand planning for 4 thermal power plants. The amount of procured coal was approximately 27 million tons per annum, carried by more than 230 shipments (capesize or panamax size vessels).
 

In 2021, he was dispatched to Vietnam to support KEPCO's Vung Ang II Thermal Power Project as a GA & Fuel General Manager.  This project is a joint project with KEPCO, Mitsubishi, Chugoku, and Shikoku power company for 1.2 GW TPP in middle of Vietnam (Ha Tinh). 
 

He returned to KOEN this year and has been working on wood pellet procurement, with annual procured amount of around 1 million tons.

Anna Rellama is a Principal at Arthur D. Little Southeast Asia with over a decade of strategic advisory experience across the region. Anna plays a key role in expanding the firm’s footprint in Southeast Asia—particularly in the Philippines—partnering with leading conglomerates, public-sector stakeholders, and multi-lateral funding organizations such as ADB, APEC, ASEAN, and UNOPS in pivotal areas such as renewable markets design, feasibility studies, and organizational transformation to support energy transition. Her ability to align diverse interests and drive consensus across fragmented markets has been instrumental in accelerating transformation initiatives. 
 

Prior to joining Arthur D. Little, Anna held multiple leadership roles at YCP Solidiance, the consulting arm of the HK-listed YCP Group. During her tenure, she led engagements in heavy industries—supporting clients in navigating disruption and capturing market opportunities. Anna holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management from HEC Paris and a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University.

Thibault Cheisson is Project Manager for Biocarbon Development at Eramet, where he drives the Group’s strategy to decarbonize metallurgical operations through sustainable carbon alternatives. Based in Paris, he works at the intersection of innovation and industrial transformation, leading efforts to scale up biocarbon use across the company’s global production sites as part of Eramet’s broader commitment to low-carbon metallurgy. 
 

He holds a PhD in chemistry from École Polytechnique in France and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Eramet’s corporate decarbonization team, he contributed to the Group’s R&D efforts in pyrometallurgy, building on a strong academic foundation in metal chemistry and separation science with more than 40 publications in top-tier journals.

David McGregor is a Director of New Zealand company Carbona. Carbona is spearheading the development torrefaction and carbonisation projects throughout  Australasia.

With a 30+ year tenure in the industrial energy sector across Australasia. David is a long-time advocate for sustainable energy; his expertise is deeply rooted in the development and promotion of biomass renewable energy sources

He is a bioenergy and supply chain professional with extensive experience in developing Indonesia’s biomass ecosystem for green power generation. His work includes building large-scale biomass business models, optimizing supplier performance, and securing strategic partnerships to support national bioenergy development. He has led strategic planning, cost-benefit analysis, and end-to-end supply chain optimization for more than 50 power plants, contributing to over 2.2 million tons of CO2eq emissions reduction per year. His background also includes managing procurement and renewable energy projects worth tens of millions of dollars, developing financial and investment strategies, and driving digital transformation in supply chain operations. With a strong foundation in environmental science and energy transition, he brings a data-driven, cross-functional, and impact-oriented approach to advancing sustainable bioenergy solutions.

James has over twenty years’ experience in biomass, biogas, energy from waste and sustainable development. He founded England’s first wood pellet factory in 2008 and was voted onto the UK Government ‘Biomass Suppliers List’ Advisory Panel in 2018. He moved to Singapore in early 2022 and established his own consultancy with a focus on sustainable regional biomass supply chains. In this role he has gained extensive knowledge of Souheast Asia’s biomass sector and currently heads up business development for Treehouz, one of Asia’s leading biomass solutions providers.

Amalie Brinks Andersen is Sustainability Manager at CM Biomass Partners A/S, based in Copenhagen. In her role, she ensures that the company’s global trading activities meet all relevant certification schemes, sustainability standards, and regulatory requirements. Amalie focuses on ensuring transparent and efficient certification processes, improving sustainability performance, and supporting decarbonization efforts across the value chain. She also works extensively with greenhouse gas calculations for biomass deliveries to secure both regulatory compliance and alignment with customer sustainability targets.

Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tiep is the Vice Director of the Vietnam Forest Certification Office (VFCO) and a expert in sustainable forest management, forest certification, and sustainable wood supply chains. He holds a Ph.D. and Bachelor’s degree in forestry from Vietnam and a Master’s degree in Forestry and Environmental from the Australian National University (ANU). With over 15 years of professional experience in the forestry sector, Dr. Tiep has played a key role in advancing sustainable forest management, promoting  VFCS/PEFC forest certification, PEFC REDIII certification and strengthening stakeholder’s capacity to ensure legal and sustainable timber sourcing for domestic and international markets.

Trung has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industryHe has also advised clients on Energy Reform Strategy, Organizational Restructuring, Growth and Diversification Strategy, Technology and Digital Strategy

Recently, Trung has been developing strategies for energy companies across Southeast Asia on their decarbonisation strategy and energy transition roadmaps which includes developing the hydrogen, bio-fuels, and convergence technologies.

Kevin Low is Principal at Blunomy, a strategy advisory boutique focused on the climate transition.

An economist by training, Kevin has spent over 10 years in the climate and sustainability space, across the public and private sector.  He has worked on strategic advisory, as well as commercial due diligences on various energy transition assets, and is now leading  Blunomy’s activities on low-carbon fuels in APAC region.

Kevin has a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), and an MA in Economics from New York University (NYU).

Dr. Liem Nguyen Van began his career as a technician for a renowned international testing company. After that Dr. Liem worked as researcher, trainer, specialist and laboratory manager for various companies and institutions both in Vietnam and abroad.

With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Liem is an expert in the research and commercial testing space with a focus on biomass testing. Dr. Liem joined Control Union Vietnam two years ago to develop the biomass laboratory. He has significantly contributed to Control Union’s laboratory with his diligent, adaptive and innovative mindset to ensure consistent quality results for Control Union’s clients.

Cameron Bell is Managing Director of Carbon Negative Power, Director of Keystones Limted & CTO of Shuhari Limted. He brings over 15 years of experience in biofuels and sustainable energy. He commercialized a CSIRO (Australia's national science agency) metallurgical biochar technology and is a former partner at Fairmont Capital Partners, Cameron is currently developing Australia's first carbon negative power plant in Darwin—which will also be the nation's largest biochar facility. As well as building the worlds Largest Metalurigcal biochar facility in India.

His work focuses on profit first projects that advance bioenergy and carbon-zero fuels while delivering measurable carbon reduction outcomes.

As market development manager for PEFC, Shawn Goh leads market strategy and certification development across Asia. With extensive experience in international trade and supply chain management, he specializes in green growth development to empower smallholder communities and enhance rural livelihoods within the agroforestry sectors. His expertise lies in developing strategies for governments and commercial agencies to navigate complex sustainability regulations like the EUDR and REDIII. He's recognized for his ability to seamlessly integrate international sustainable trade with comprehensive climate action in Asia through PEFC's solutions

Shunsuke Kawagishi specializes in climate change mitigation policy, technology and market research. In recent years, he has conducted numerous surveys in the fields of biomass sustainability including woody biomass fuels and SAF. 
 

After graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 2006, he joined Mitsubishi Research Institute in 2006. He seconded to the Global Environment Office of the Industrial Technology and Environment Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry from 2009 to 2012.
   

He was nominated to Expert Reviewer of the IPCC WG3 Fifth Assessment Report (2012), IPCC WG3 Sixth Assessment Report (2020), RIETI Consulting Fellow (2013). He has been an expert nominated by the Japan (since 2020) to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) where contributed to the Long-Term Aspirational Goal Task Group and currently is contributing to the Working Group on CORSIA.

Hasnoel is the Director of BAC Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd, with 28 years experience, playing Senior Leadership roles in Project Development, Structuring and Advisory, in the areas of public policy, corporate finance, strategic reviews, financial advisory, and risk management. 

He has been involved in Renewable Energy and Waste industry since 2010, pioneering the development of integrated biomass, biogas, bioCNG and Liquified Biomethane projects in Malaysia and SEA, winning numerous accolades. He has structured numerous Bioenergy and Biofuels schemes, Renewable Energy concessions, Energy and Power sector financing programs in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam, with more than 20 Private Financing Initiatives (PFI) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects across the region, totalling more than USD10bil.

Hasnoel was previously with Andersen and CIMB Bank in Kuala Lumpur. He obtained his degree in Economics & Accounting from UK, and he is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Adam is a graduate of Gdynia Maritime University (Business Management) and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the School of Banking in partnership with the University of Northampton. He began his career in the banking and financial sector (1998–2003), later moving into certification. From 2002 to 2007, he was Lead Auditor at PRS S.A., and from 2007 to 2015, Director of Certification and Audit at SGS Polska Sp. z o.o. Since 2012, he has held the position of Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe at SGS, contributing to international projects within the SGS Group. In 2014, he co-founded Biocontrol Sp. z o.o. and helped develop the National Standard for Biomass Authentication. He is a co-creator of the SNS certification system and the National Biomass Authentication Register (www.ksub.pl)—the most widely used tools for biomass supply chain verification in Poland.

Miho Okuno serves as the Sustainability Manager at Renova, Inc., where she leads the development and implementation of sustainable procurement policies for biomass fuel. In this role, she plays a central part in advancing responsible sourcing practices and enhancing sustainability across the biomass power generation sector. 
 

Since 2025, Ms. Okuno has served as a Board Member of the Biomass Power Association (BPA) and as the Chairperson of the Agricultural Resources Certification Council in Japan. Through her leadership in these organizations, she contributes to industry-wide efforts to address critical policy issues related to biomass, while promoting sound and sustainable power generation practices. 
 

Her work is dedicated to shaping the future of biomass energy through stakeholder collaboration, policy engagement, and the advancement of sustainability standards in the renewable energy industry.

Graduate of the Faculty of Commodity Science at the Maritime University in Gdynia, Poland, with a specialization in Commodity Science and Quality Management, as well as postgraduate studies in Energy and Renewable Energy Sources at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. 
 

For over 15 years, she has been professionally involved in the certification of product quality and management systems, as well as the renewable energy sector. She has served for many years as a third-party auditor for several certification bodies, including the Polish Center for Testing and Certification, and global ones as: SGS Polska Sp. z o.o., Control Union Poland Sp. z o.o., DIN CERTCO GmbH, Bureau Veritas Polska Sp. z o.o., and DQS.
   

An active member of working groups under the European Pellet Council (EPC), part of BIOENERGY EUROPE. Currently, she also serves as President of the auditing company Biocontrol Sp. z o.o. and Vice President of the Polish Pellet Council.
