  • Risks: As virgin resin capacity grows, trade flows are changing, impacting the region's historical supply with cost-competitive options. Meanwhile, political changes and gaps in the current regulations around plastics jeopardise demand growth and the use of recycled materials.
  • Opportunities: The development of circular economy legislation and sustainability brand commitments promote the demand for recycled materials; due to this, reclaimer capacity expands in the region with the support of manual collection and evolving recycling technologies.
