Mr. Andrew Lee Fagg

Lee is Principal and Practice leader for Nexant’s Chemicals Consulting business in Asia, based in Thailand.  He is more than 20 years of combined consulting and industry experience covering technology, markets, business planning, strategy and M&A, spanning all major regions.  Before relocating to Asia in 2007, Lee worked in Nexant’s London office, supporting a wide range of consulting projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.


Prior to joining Nexant, Lee worked for SASOL and Rio Tinto in a variety of commercial and business development roles.  He studied Chemistry and Business at Leeds University in the UK.

Mrs. Kitiya Hongsirikarn

Mrs. Kitiya Hongsirikarn is a senior analyst based in Nexant’s Bangkok Office.  Within Nexant, she has been engaged in cost competitiveness, project feasibility and market analysis for various petrochemicals value chains such as vinyls, styrenics and phenol.  She has 7 years’ consulting experience.  Mrs. Kitiya also has a leading role in the latest global analysis of Phenol Chain Market Dynamics, and will share our insights around polycarbonate markets today.

Mr. Randy Velarde

Randy Velarde, a 37-year veteran of the petrochemical industry, is the founder and President of The Plaza Group, an international marketing firm specializing in refinery, organic and inorganic chemicals and polymer products with offices in Houston and Panama City, Panama.  Prior to establishing The Plaza Group in 1994, Mr. Velarde spent 13 years in commercial management and market development at Shell Chemical and Texaco Chemical.  Mr. Velarde received a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of New Mexico.  Randy resides in Houston, TX with his four children.

Mr. Carlos Diaz Castro

Carlos Diaz is a graduate in International Business Administration; He also has an MBA from IESE in Madrid. He joined the Cepsa Group 21 years ago where he has always been involved in the Chemical BU and mainly in the Cumene & Phenol & Acetone chain. He spent 5 years as General Manager of Ertisa UK, then he moved back to Spain as Business Manager for the domestic Market and now he is Global VP Sales & Marketing Phenol BU for CEPSA. Carlos is married with three kids and he is a big supporter of Atletico Madrid football club.

Dr. Qin Kun

Dr. Kun Qin earned his PhD in Chemistry from University of Delaware and his MBA from Drexel University, USA. He is the General Manager of Sumitomo Chemical Asia. He leads the company’s global petrochemical marketing and business planning with portfolio of 3 billion-dollar sales of petrochemical products of aromatics, intermediates, polyolefins, elastomers, and PMMA. He has 20 years of relevant experience and has immersed himself in various aspects of the chemical industry including research and development, sales and marketing.

Mr. Michael Streng


.Michael Streng graduated in Germany in 1983 and received his diploma in Process Engineering. In 1998-2000 he post-graduated in the Netherlands and England in an international MBA programme receiving his Master in Business Administration.


Michael started his 30 years of professional career in Zimmer AG: He worked in the fields of process engineering, commissioning management, plant design and project management, engineering management, technology development and marketing as well as strategic business planning.


In 2002 Michael moved to the EPC Group. Since then Michael is heading the business unit at Alzenau, Germany and is the Director of polymer technologies and member of managing board of EPC. In more than 36 countries Michael dealt with a number of projects in the field of polymers and fibre plants, pilot plants, plant revamping and developments which have been successfully executed in the past years - and new product developments brought on track.

Mr. Karol Kerrane

Karol Kerrane is Business Development Director at EPC Group. EPC Group is a German family-owned engineering company offering technology, engineering and plant construction solutions for a wide range of industries.


Karol’s qualifications include BEng in Environmental Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Studies and a MSc in Renewable Energy & Energy Management. Since joining EPC Group in 2011, Karol has been involved with developing multiple downstream industrial projects around the globe particularly for polymers and fibers.
