She has also authored several reports that analyze technological and commercial trends and developments (including new processes that employ renewable feedstocks) in areas of interest to the chemical and allied industries. Mr. Augusto Liparachi Knudsen is currently the Latin America & Caribbean Commercial Director for Genesis Polymers International, a company fully dedicated to the distribution, resale and procurement of PET. Genesis Polymers International is a Ravago Company, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, United States of America.

 

The Ravago Group, is a privately held multinational and a global leader in thermoplastics procurement, distribution, compounding and resale.

 

Mr. Augusto Knudsen was born in Santos, Brazil, and he moved at an early age to England where he spent 10 years completing secondary school, the international baccalaureate and university.

 

He currently holds an Honors Bachelor Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and Minerals from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and a post graduate in Marketing Administration from the Fundacao Getulio Vargas University in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

 

He has more than 25 years of experience in commercial, supply chain and business management in the PET industry in Latin America & the Caribbean. He started his career at Eastman Chemical Company in 1991, and he has been involved in all phases from plant start-up, supply chain, procurement, product development, market segmentation, business management and commercialization of PET in Latin America and Caribbean.

 

While working for Eastman he lived in several different countries, Brazil, United States of America, Mexico and Panama on a variety of management roles in the PET business.

 

In addition to his current role at Genesis Polymers International, Mr. Augusto Knudsen is also Managing Director of Knudsen International Consulting Group Inc. and an executive director at the board of Circle K International Wealth Management, Inc. He is currently based in Panama City, Republic of Panama.

Ms. Maritza Ramirez

Ms Maritza Ramirez is based in Mexico, with over 30 years experience in Research and Development and Commercial roles in Packaging for the Food and Consumer Good Products Industries. She has an extensive background in Research and Development of Packages, including PET and PEN Bottles for Coca-Cola in Atlanta, GA and Mexico City. Also worked for different material packages with P&G, Kraft Foods, Alsea, Phoenix Packaging Group in Mexico and for Latin America regions.

Her commercial roles in Packaging and Food ingredients companies include i.e. Huhtamaki and McCormick for Mexico and Latin America. Ms Maritza is a member and Board of Directors participants in Professional Associations such as Mexican Association of Packaging (Treasurer), Mexican Association of Executive Women (Member at large), Institute of Food Technologies/ Packaging Division (Member at large), Centro Politecnico de Proyeccion (Board Advisor) 

She joined in 2017 the PET team for PCI Wood Mackenzie. She has an B. Sc. in Food Engineering from the UAM Mexico and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, UK.

Mr. Lobel Baotic

Lobel has been working in the packaging industry for the last 20 years.  Since 2015, Lobel is Director of Packaging Development at Coca-Cola’s Latin American R&D Center, based in Mexico City.   

Prior to assuming his current role, Lobel served as Packaging Development Sr. Manager in Coca-Cola FEMSA, where he was responsible for generating and leading packaging development initiatives in 10 countries.  Lobel joined FEMSA in 2004. 

 

Before joining the Coca-Cola System, Lobel also worked in various packaging and purchasing positions in M&M Mars (2001-2004) and Unilever Canada (1997-2001).  Lobel studied Packaging Management & Technology at Mohawk College.  He also occupied the Technical VP position in the IoPP – Ontario Chapter (1998-2004).

Ingeniero Químico, con especialidad en petroquímica, tesis desarrollada en el estudio calorimétrico de una mezcla extruida de Polietileno de Alta Densidad y Polietilenterftalato, estudios de posgrado en empacotecnia. 19 años de experiencia en la industria, principalmente en el mundo del empaque plástico, conocimiento de los diferentes procesos de transformación del plástico, participación en patentes de nuevos diseños de envases y empaque así como en proyectos con Conacyt. En lo particular para el mundo del PET, desarrollo de proyectos para el uso de rPET al 100% en extrusión para termoformado.

 

Chemical Engineer, with specialty in petrochemical, thesis developed in the calorimetric study of an extruded mixture of High Density Polyethylene and Polyethylene Phthalate, postgraduate studies in packaging. 19 years of experience in the industry, mainly in the world of plastic packaging, knowledge of the different processes of transformation of plastic, participation in patents of new designs of packaging and packaging as well as in projects with Conacyt. In particular for the world of PET, development of projects for to use 100% rPET in extrusion film for termoforming.

Mr. José Manuel Díaz

José Manuel Díaz es Ingeniero Industrial de la UNAM y tiene una Maestría en Finanzas y otra en Negocios Internacionales del Tecnológico de Monterrey. Trabajó para Industrias Wheaton, desde 1977, durante 12 años en diferentes áreas de manufactura de envases de vidrio y envases de plástico, y finalmente como Gerente de Planta, luego por 4 años en PYNSA como Gerente de Planta. Se incorporó a Graham Packaging Company de México en 1993 como Director de Operaciones en la planta de Pachuca; ahí coordinó la Manufactura, Calidad, compras, Recursos Humanos y Finanzas durante diez años, para luego, en el 2002, ser transferido a Estados Unidos como Gerente de Licencias de Tecnología. Desde el 2007 es Director de Desarrollo de Negocios para Graham Packaging Company en Latinoamérica. Radica en York, Pennsylvania, Estados Unidos.

 

 

José Manuel Díaz is Industrial Engineer from the University of Mexico (UNAM) and has to MBA’s: one in Finance and the other one in International Businesses from The Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM). He worked for Industrias Wheaton de Mexico during 12 years, since 1977, in different manufacturing areas in the glass and the plastic plants, and finally became the Plant Manager, then for the next 4 years he worked in PYNSA as Plant Manager. Jose started to work in Graham Packaging Company de México in 1993 as Operations Director in the Pachuca plant; where he was responsible of Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Human Resources and Finance during ten years, then, in 2002, Jose was transferred to the United States as Technology Licensing Manager. Since 2007 is Director of Business Development in Latin America for Graham Packaging Company. He resides in York, Pennsylvania, USA.

Eric Penicka joined Euromonitor International in 2014 as a US research analyst.  He provides insights within the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, packaging, and tobacco industries. His research includes analysis on market sizes, brand/company shares, product distribution, consumer interest and trends, and government policy. Prior to his role at Euromonitor, Eric obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and spent time researching infrastructure development initiatives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Mr. Adrian Méndez Prieto is a researcher at the Applied Chemistry Research Center (CIQA) in Saltillo. He graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the Faculty of Chemistry of UAdeC and later obtained a Master's degree in Plastics Technology. His professional experience has focused on the field of plastic processing, mainly in the processing and recycling of PET. He has worked on projects on:
* Characterization and processability of PET in Blowing and Thermoformed Injection.

17 years ago herdez group initiated with an important investment on machinery  and equipment in order  to reduce cost and to have a safe and reliable supply for the different PET containers mainly containers for spices , squeezable ,juice hot filling, tea hot filling, gallon, and half gallon.
All the equipment used for this propose are Japanese last generation, and so are the molds, at present time in our factory in zumpango we produce 25 million containers per year,
And at the cap factory at San Luis Potosi produces 300 million caps with Canadian equipment.
My function in the group has been to advise and help them decide about acquisition of equipment, initiate operations of the factory, preventive and corrective maintenance  for all the equipment and supervise all the new containers and caps development.
Supervise the day to day production and advice personal with any current problem.
The resins used are PET for the containers and POLIPROPILENE for the caps.
The factories work 7 days a week with programed maintenance.
Our five containers lines and four caps lines work totally in automatic mode so that nobody touches the products in the whole process, this way we guarantee the innocuousness of our products.

Mr. Stefano Baldassar

Mr. Stefano Baldassar has 23 years experience in the PET Capital Equipment Industry. He joined SIPA in 1995 and held positions as Project Manager, North America Sales Manager, and Sales & Marketing Tooling Director. 

For the past seven years, Stefano has been accountable for SIPA’s PET Systems & Tooling Global Sales. Mr. Baldassar holds an MBA from the University of Kansas and currently drives SIPA’s strong focus on PET circular economy.

Mr. Arturo Aguilar Ventura

Mr. Arturo Aguilar Ventura’s beginning of his professional career began in 1999, working for the company Plastiglas de México in the production of acrylic sheets.
Later in 2001 he started working in the PET industry for the company Amcor Rigid Plastics in which he stayed for 12 years, learning in this company the processes of PET injection, high density polyethylene extrusion, Polypropylene caps injection and hot fill blowing containers; all focused on compliance to product quality and analysis through statistical control and its process capability. 

In 2012, Mr. Arturo received the opportunity to serve as regional quality assurance manager in the Alpla Mexico Company, where thanks to teamwork, the operations of Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez, Hermosillo, La Paz and Culiacan were successfully started. 

Within professional experience is having worked in the printing industry where he learn print techniques and especially get knowledge about the theory of color. 
Since 2015, Mr. Arturo have performed as quality assurance manager in the company Mega Empack which is located in the Queretaro city and which as a divisional company belongs to the BEPENSA corporate.
