Dr. Vidhya Rangaswamy

Dr. Vidhya Rangaswamy holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Mumbai and has done her post-doctoral research at University of Massachussetts and Oklahoma State University.  Currently, she is the Vice President, Industrial Biotechnology Group in Reliance Industries Limited.


Dr. Vidhya Rangaswamy is a leading Biotechnologist with over 30 years of experience in the area of Biopolymers, Biofuels and Biochemicals.  Her research in the biopolymer field encompasses developing processes for poly lactic acid, 1,3-propanediol and hyaluronic acid.  The process for hyaluronic acid has been commercialized.  In the area of biofuels, competitive process for biobutanol from lignocellulosic biomass, biodiesel from yeast oil are some of the highlights. 


Biochemicals processes were developed for gibberellic acid and immunosuppressants such as tacrolimus and sirolimus.  Currently, her group is working on designing pathways and developing biological processes for chemicals that are currently obtained through the petrochemical route.  Dr. Vidhya has over 41 international publications in peer-reviewed journals and filed 21 patents of which 10 are granted.

Mr. Rajesh Marwaha

Mr.Rajesh Marwaha is presently working as SBU Head (Intl Business) with India Glycols Ltd. He has done his Master’s in International Trade from the prestigious Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi. He also holds an Honours Degree in Physics from University of Delhi. He is a qualified Six Sigma Green Belt in TQM and Quality Improvement.


Mr.Marwaha has a rich and varied experience of over 25 years in Business Development & Export Marketing. He is responsible for identification and appraisal of new potential markets for green products and design appropriate marketing strategy for business development.He has travelled extensively worldwide in this connection. Prior to this, he has worked with DCM Shriram Industries Ltd , a reputed Indian company in the business of tyre reinforcement fibres and industrial textiles.

Ms. Henna Poikolainen

Henna Poikolainen is a Senior Consultant at Pöyry Management Consulting, specialised in bio-based chemicals, biofuels and new business development. She joined Pöyry in 2011 and has since supported clients in biomass sourcing, market entry, and partnering strategies; in supply, demand and cost analyses; and in technology reviews and pre-feasibility assessments. Ms. Poikolainen is based in Pöyry headquarters in Finland, but is constantly working in global projects from North America to Asia Pacific. She holds M.Sc. (Chem.Tech) degree from Aalto University (Finland) including business studies from the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Isroi graduated as PhD on biotechnology from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta in 2014 and two-year research program in Chalmers University of Technology and University of Boras, Sweden. His research focus is utilization of oil palm empty fruit bunch for compost, organic fertilizer, cellulose derivate, biopulping, bioethanol and bioplastic since 2004. His position now is a researcher in Indonesian Research Institute for Biotechnology and Bioindustry, Indonesia.

Dr. Asmuwahyu Saptoraharjo  graduated as a Ph D on Analytical Organic Chemistry from Universite Louis Pasteur  Strasbourg French in 1985, He has over thirty  years of experience in the Indonesian plastics industry as a manager and advisor.  His position now is a technical advisor
in  developping Bioplastic at PT Inter Aneka Lestari Kimia, a plastic compounder and masterbatch producer from Indonesia.

Ms. Babette Pettersen

Babette is Chief Business Development Officer at Capricorn Venture Partners, a European manager of venture capital and equity funds. Capricorn have recently launched a Sustainable Chemistry Fund, for next generation feedstocks, chemicals and materials, which will focus on innovative companies with novel or bio-based technologies.


Before joining Capricorn, Babette was the Chief Commercial Officer for BioAmber Inc., a market leader in bio-based succinic acid. Prior to this, Babette led new business development for Performance Materials at Royal DSM after 20 years in Marketing & New Business Development at Dow Corning.


Babette has a BSc in Biology from Wellesley College, USA and an MBA from INSEAD.  She is on the Advisory Committee of the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3) for the European Forum of Industrial Biotechnology(EFIB) and Bio-Based Live.

Suteera Witayakran is currently a researcher at Kasetsart Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Product Improvement Institute, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA with Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (Paper Science and Engineering). Her research focuses on green modification of lignocellulosic fibers, extraction method for lignocellulosic and cellulosic fibers in micro and nano scale, and turning natural fibers from agricultural resources into new biomaterials.

Fabien Resweber has chemical engineer degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, France in 2001.

He has now worked for plastic industry for more than 15years, in different businesses : masterbatch (PolyOne), compounding (Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation) and now bioplastic neat polymer, and had different positions, starting from R&D and technical support, Business development and Sales and Marketing. He is now Vice President Sales and Marketing at PTTMCC Biochem Company Limited, supplier of the first bio-based polybutylene succinate.

Marcel J.Q. Keuenhof is a packaging technologist by education & extensive experience: after graduating in Packaging Design & Technology at the start of the millennium, he spent his entire professional career in packaging-related roles in the FMCG business. Both on manufacturing side (paper-based & glass packaging) as well as in the field of brand-owners & food manufacturers. He currently is European Packaging manager at Wessanen – a company focused on healthy & organic food.

Mr. Stefan Barot

Stefan is Business director Bio-Plastics for Total Corbion, a Dutch 50/50 JV between Total a fortune 500 fossil fuel producer and Corbion the global leader in Lactic Acid. Stefan is an expert on the global PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid) market concentrating his efforts on the fastest growing region, Asia.


He is a seasoned leader with a focus on business development and a diverse background in Chemicals and its related industries. Stefan worked for Ciba and BASF in leadership positions in pharmaceuticals, pigments plastics and lubricants where he gained a wealth of experience working in environmental protection, chemical production, quality control and sales and marketing. Before he joined Corbion several years ago, he lead a global business unit focused on customer specific products.


Stefan is a Swiss citizen and he worked for more than 14 years in Japan, Korea and China and the Middle East. He holds degrees in chemical engineering and an E-MBA from IMD in Switzerland. He is also a board member of KNPO a Swedish NGO for children.

Mr. Prakit has ten years’ experience in the chemicals industry and used to work with leading players such as CIBA-Geigy and BASF.  Before joining ABT, he was a product manager at Saint-Gobain, one of leading construction materials companies worldwide.
