Ms. Cindy Dawes
Cindy has worked throughout her career in the financial and physical markets as a broker developing liquidity in markets such as the interest rate derivative market, the emissions market , the weather derivative market and the biomass market. During her career she has run a number of brokerage businesses, has been part of the management team that took one of those businesses public, set up the initiative to develop cleared derivative markets as in Swap Clear and created the contracts that are now listed on the CME to hedge weather. At PVM Associates she was hired to develop the non-oil areas of the business. The first business she established at PVM in early 2013 was a brokerage business in wood pellets and chips for biomass. During her three years there the team concluded deals from prompt through to 15 years in both wood chips and pellets and gained a reputation as being the pre-eminent broker in these markets. These contracts have involved clients throughout the world including in Japan, Europe, Africa, USA, Russia, and Korea. In 2016 in order to build on the success achieved at PVM she decided to establish a specialist company focusing only on timber products; wood chips for biomass, MDF and pulp and paper and wood pellets for the industrial and heating market. Through that company she will continue to build liquidity in these markets and will continue to promote the understanding of the need for sustainable supply.
