U Soe Tin is a Commerce Graduate from Yangon University. Certified public Accountant, MBA as well. He was former Director of Banking Supervision Department in the Central Bank of Myanmar. He was also retired Managing Director of Myanma Economic Bank, the biggest bank in Myanmar. Now he is an advisor in Myanma Apex Bank, a leading bank in Myanmar. Published a book recently  “Financial Development in Myanmar” in English and some books on economics and banking in Myanmar Language / previously.

Formerly a City of London pension fund manager, Stuart Larkin has been Yangon-based for seventeen years, studying the Myanmar economy in one capacity or another. He worked for several years with the Kuok Group's investment arm, Kerry Investment Management, undertaking sector research. He has also undertaken numerous policy studies for foreign governments and UN agencies. He also gained valuable experience working for the chairman of one of the country's top business conglomerates. Mr. Edwin Vanderbruggen
Edwin is one of Myanmar’s leading foreign lawyers, particularly recognized for his experience with large transactions. He was formerly with Loyens & Loeff and a partner at DFDL. He has 20 years of experience as a lawyer, academic and government adviser, including six years of experience on Myanmar tax and investment issues. Edwin advises on some of the largest investment projects in Myanmar, such as the acquisition of oil and gas interests, the tender for telecom licenses, major infrastructure projects, and power plants. Mr. Dennis James Meseroll
Dennis Meseroll is a founding partner and director of Tractus Asia, a foreign direct investment advisory firm with a history of facilitating over US$4 billion of investment in Asia across more than 500 projects. He is responsible for Tractus’ business development and corporate strategy advisory practice. After receiving his BA in geology from Rutgers University, Mr. Meseroll spent a year as a Fulbright Fellow in Thailand completing research that would later lead to an MA in applied/mineral economics from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Thida Hla

.Dr. Thida Hla, Deputy Director, Medical Care Division, Department of Health, Ministry of Health of Myanmar graduated from the University of Medicine (I), Yangon, Myanmar in 1987 and joined government civil service in 1990. She worked as a medical officer in several township hospitals for 11 years after that she attended postgraduate training on Hospital Administration and Health Management at the same University in 2001. She has also assigned as a Project Manager of Myanmar Essential Medicines Project in 2006.


As a deputy director from medical care division of Department of Health, she is responsible for mid level management of planning, supervision and administration of all public hospitals throughout the country aiming to improve the quality of health care services in public hospitals by upgrading of hospital beds, by providing modern medical equipments, by increasing the capacity building of health care providers. She has experiences in implementing project activities regarding access to essential medicines and promoting rational use of medicines as a project manager of Myanmar Essential Medicines Project.

Ms. Cho Cho Wynn
Ms. Cho Cho Wynn graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the Yangon Institute of Economics in 1979.  She gained her Master Degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies from the Netherlands in 1992 and a Diploma on Market Economics and Financial Analysis in 1995 from Charles University, Czech Republic. She worked at the Yangon Institute of Economic as an assignment tutor as well as research assistant from 1980 to 1984 before joining the Ministry of Planning and Finance.  She joined the Planning department under the Ministry of Planning and Finance in 1984 and transferred to the Foreign Investment Commission Office in end of 1988 when the FIC was established. After Myanmar acceded to ASEAN, she was assigned to the ASEAN Secretariat as a Senior Officer for Trade Liberalization. She provided her services at the ASEAN Secretariat from 1997 to 2001. After her assignment at the ASEAN Secretariat, she returned to Myanmar and joined the National AFTA Unit under the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration at the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development. She served as the Director of the National AFTA Unit from 2010 to 2012 April, and a Director of the ASEAN Unit of the Foreign Economic Relations Department from 2012 April to 2012 November, when she began serving as the Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.

U Than Maung was formerly a Law Officer cum Public Attorney with the Attorney General's Office of the Union of Myanmar for almost 16 years.


He joined Kelvin Chia Yangon Limited, an affiliate of Kelvin Chia Partnership, a Singapore-based International Law Firm as a legal associate in 1998. Since then, he has undertaken a wide range of matters in the fields of intellectual property and trademark registration for world-wide proprietors, trade and economy, taxation and all aspects of investment and commercial business whatsoever relating to Myanmar jurisdiction. He works with various local and foreign companies, and liaises with government authorities and regulatory bodies in the Union.


He is a regular contributor of legal articles both in English and the Myanmar language, and is a member to certain renowned international law associations such as International Trademark Association (INTA), Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) and ASEAN IP Association (AIPA).


He was invited and had taken his participation on drafting processions of new IP laws of the Union of Myanmar, along with the whole Cabinet and high officials of the Government spearheaded by the Prime Minister himself around 2004 and 2005.

From 16 November 2011, he is appointed as a member of the 15-membered "Commission for Assessment of Legal Affairs and Special Issues" of the People's Parliament formed under the new Constitution of the Republic of Union of Myanmar. He is also appointed in July 2012 as a member of the Dispute Settlement Arbitration Council formed by the Ministry of Labour under the new Labour Dispute Settlement Law of 2012.

Mr. Alessio Polastri

Alessio is the founder of PWP. He holds an LLB (University of Milan) and a LLM in Corporate and Financial Services (National University of Singapore).  Before founding PWP, Alessio worked for 2 years in a well-regarded law firm in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Previously, he worked in the financial services and project finance departments of a leading British law firm in both its Milan and Singapore offices. He began his legal career in the corporate and banking services department of a leading Italian law firm, working in both its Milan and Hong Kong S.A.R. offices.


Alessio has been involved in numerous transactions including project finance in Myanmar.  He is usually described as “a very capable consultant with outstanding commercial understanding”.


He frequently travels to Europe and Africa to assist foreign clients investing in South-East Asia and he is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on the investment climate in Myanmar.
