Enny obtained her PhD in UK from School of Biological Sciences of Bath University in January 1991 with research subject on Cassava Biotechnology. Since then she has been continuosly working on cassava in Indonesia on various aspects including cryopreservation (in vitro preservation), multiplication through somatic embryogenesis including Friable Embryogenic Callus (FEC)  to provide  materials for genetic transformation  genetic improvement involving molecular marker techniques, irradiation to induce mutants and genetic engineering.  She has been working at Research Centre for Biotechnology  of  Indonesian Institute of Sciences since 1986 . She has been Indonesian coordinators of joint projects between Indonesia and international partners including private sectors.
