Dr. Wolfgang K Heidug
Dr. Heidug holds postgraduate degrees in physics and environmental economics, together with an engineering Ph.D. His education was completed in Germany and the US. In 1986, Dr. Heidug joined BP as a petroleum engineer, moving to Shell International E&P in 1988. Prior to his present role, he was the 'Principal Scientist - Greenhouse Gas Mitigation' for Shell International E&P. Dr. Heidug was selected as one of the lead authors of the Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2005. He is one of the initiators of the first onshore CCS demonstration project in Europe, and is currently serving as chairman of the CCS Task Force of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP).
