As the Indonesian government looks to boost the country's power capacity, publicly listed energy company - Indika Energy plans a mega power-plant project, estimated to involve investments worth USD1.2 billion approximately.
A 1,000 MW power plant in Java is being planned by the company - to be developed by a consortium using renewable energy such as geothermal and other sources. Indika expects a 30 percent stake in this consortium.
Funds for the project are not yet raised and talks with foreign partners are being undertaken. With this power project, Indika plans to contribute to the government's plan of developing power plants with a total capacity of 35,000 MW in next five years - of which about 15,000 MW would be supplied by state-run electricity company PT PLN while the remaining 20,000 MW would be provided by independent power producers (IPPs).
Indika already has a 660 MW power in Cirebon, West Java, through Cirebon Electric Power (CEP), in which it holds a 20 percent stake. CEP is an IPP in Indonesia, a joint venture between Japan's Marubeni Corporation that owns the biggest stake (32.5 percent), followed by Korea Midland Power Co. with 27.5 percent.
CMT's Electric Power Indonesia on 14-15 April, 2015 in Jakarta will present an overview of the power projects in Indonesia.

PRESS RELEASE
MWM offers gas generators, complete cogeneration plants, and containers especially tuned to biogas.
Strengths of MWM biogas systems
Thanks to many years of experience and myriad references, MWM has in-depth knowledge on the most diverse types of requirements for biogas projects. Boasting a vast array of detailed solutions already configured, MWM is exactly the right partner for fulfilling your individual specifications.
Biogas from Regenerative Raw Material and Biogas Plants
Biogas is the product of the anaerobic fermentation of organic material in a fermenter. This gas has a CH4 methane content of 45-70 percent. During the combustion, the amount of emitted CO2 merely corresponds to the amount that the substrates absorbed during growth. Cogeneration plants that produce power using biogas prevent emissions that would otherwise be emitted during the combustion of fossil fuels.
MWM offers gas generators, complete cogeneration plants, and containers especially tuned to biogas. These systems achieve maximum efficiency in various output segments. MWM also provides the system components required for gas processing and treatment.
Derive maximum efficiency from your biogas system
During initial setup or engine refitting, each system is ideally configured to the properties of the gas produced. This provides a decisive edge in efficiency and ensures signifycantly optimized payback times.
Comprehensive plant expertise
Worldwide over 2,000 gensets with biogas projects are in operation, with a total output of over 1,500 MWel.

GE has joined hands with Indonesia's PT General Electric Distributed Power, PT Adidaya Bismawisesa Internasional and PT Raharja Galuh Energi to develop gas-fueled power plant (PLTG) in Karawang, West Java.
PT Raharja Galuh Energi (a joint venture between publicly listed gas transmission and distribution company PT Rukun Raharja and PT Galuh Citarum) is in charge of the project's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), while PT Adidaya Bismawisesa Internasional is responsible for operating the PLTG.
GE will supply three GE Jenbacher J620-type CCHPs, that will optimise the supply of electricity supply to consumers.
The plant aims to begin operations by mid-2015.
The US$9 million invested in the plant will be dedicated to construction, efficiency solutions and the supply of [CCHP] technology.
More key developments in Indonesia's power sector will be discussed at CMT's Electric Power Indonesia on 14-15 April, 2015 in Jakarta.

Indonesia's Sumatra region has been facing an electricity deficit. But new President "Jokowi" is very optimistic of solving the issue and generating surplus electricity in the island within the next 5 years.
His government is preparing to provide a 35,000 megawatt (MW) electricity supply to Sumatra.
The new supply is expected to solve the island's electricity blackouts. The government plans to achieve the electricity surplus in phases, by optimizing the existing power plants.
The announcement came on the sidelines of Jokowi's visit to a steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) Tarahan in South Lampung and PLTU Sebalang.
Both the plants reportedly lack several megawatts of electricity supply.
State-owned PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) is developing several new PLTUs, one of which was PLTU Banko Tengah with a capacity of 2 x 620 MW and is expected to be completed in 2018.
By end of 2014, PTBA will complete PLTU Banjarsari, which has a capacity of 2 x 110 MW in Lahat, South Sumatra.
More on the electricity power generation in Indonesia will be discussed at Electric Power Indonesia on 14-15 April, 2015 in Jakarta.
