“Is the current price sustainable?”
With the global consumption growth of natural gas marking its highest and still growing, natural gas has become a vital source for power and energy that should no longer be neglected. The price of LNG has now reached its all time high.

“Natural gas is the fastest growing primary energy source in the IEO2005 forecast. Consumption of natural gas is projected to increase by nearly 70% between 2002 and 2025, with the most robust growth in demand expected among the emerging economies.”
EIA’s International Energy Outlook 2005

Taiwan’s CPC has signed a 25-years LNG purchase agreement with Rasgas of Qatar. India’s Gujarat State Petroleum Corp has inked a preliminary deal with Royal Dutch Shell Plc in mid January 2006 to import LNG for 20 years.

Meanwhile, the number of pipeline projects across countries and/or continents has also risen sharply to enable logistic of natural gas from production to the importing countries. The growth of natural gas sector is significantly visible with many upstream exploration projects. This growth has also attracted more investment opportunities on natural gas related technologies and utilization and transportation.

With a booming growth in the natural gas and LNG market,
• Is the price sustainable? How is the demand and consumption of LNG growing in Asia? What will the consumption be focusing on?
• Will the fundamentals prevail to bring a balance with the availability of alternative fuels?
