Asia’s Beverage Market Expected To Experience Unprecedented Growth By 2021

Posted on : 01 Aug, 2016

According to Canadean, who provide research analysis of international beverage industries and beverage packaging, Asia is predicted to contribute two-thirds of global incremental beverage consumption by 2021. Out of this increase, China will be responsible for one-third of the volume.

Besides China, Canadean also highlighted India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam as the key growing markets predicted to be the top ten increment volume providers in the period leading to 2021.

As a result of a growing global health trend, water consumption is up and bottled water, together with home/office delivery of water, will be the primary driver of incremental volume growth in these markets. The lack of good quality tap water in emerging markets is also contributing to increased consumption of packaged water.

Today, Asia’s rapidly increasing beverage consumption is a stark contrast to 2000, when the US and West Europe together accounted for nearly one-third of global commercial beverage consumption.

Find out more about new trends and the outlook for the beverage packing industry in Asia, at CMT’s 6th PET Asia Outlook on 17-18 November in Bangkok.
