GE has joined hands with Indonesia's PT General Electric Distributed Power, PT Adidaya Bismawisesa Internasional and PT Raharja Galuh Energi to develop gas-fueled power plant (PLTG) in Karawang, West Java.
PT Raharja Galuh Energi (a joint venture between publicly listed gas transmission and distribution company PT Rukun Raharja and PT Galuh Citarum) is in charge of the project's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), while PT Adidaya Bismawisesa Internasional is responsible for operating the PLTG.
GE will supply three GE Jenbacher J620-type CCHPs, that will optimise the supply of electricity supply to consumers.
The plant aims to begin operations by mid-2015.
The US$9 million invested in the plant will be dedicated to construction, efficiency solutions and the supply of [CCHP] technology.
More key developments in Indonesia's power sector will be discussed at CMT's Electric Power Indonesia on 14-15 April, 2015 in Jakarta.
