Plastics News.com reported that “Suspension PVC prices are up an average of 5 cents per pound in North America since Jan. 1... has PVC buyers on edge...But feedstock pressures from ethylene, along with markets tightened by maintenance turnarounds and increased export levels, are changing the rules of the PVC game in early 2010.”
In Europe, Mediterranean PVC producers are looking forward to a "3-4% overall growth in 2010”, but according to a recent ICIS report, “outlook is varied according to region and construction in the UK and Iberia are among the worst hit in Europe... The strongest recovery is reported to be in Central and Eastern Europe.”
