Succinity GmbH, a joint venture between BASF and Corbion Purac, is dedicated to the production and commercialisation of high-quality succinic acid, Succinity®, based on renewable resources. We aim to provide our customers with a reliable supply of succinic acid to enable them to develop sustainable solutions in various application fields worldwide.

BASF and Corbion Purac have been conducting research on biobased succinic acid under a joint development agreement since 2009, before registering Succinity GmbH in August 2013. Our cooperation combines the know-how of BASF, the largest and most experienced global producer of chemical intermediates, and Corbion, a leading provider of biobased food ingredients and biochemicals. We are headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Succinity BBSA is produced at our first production plant in Montmelo, Barcelona. The plant, which is integrated into a Corbion production site, features proprietary technology of both mother companies for fermentation andd downstream processing and has a capacity of 10kt/a. Fermentation is based on the bacterium Basfia.

Gala offers a variety of different machinery for the plastic industry and some specifically for Engineering Resin producers.

Part of Gala's business is customer designed and tailor made pelletizing systems, as well as market speciality systems which are specifically developed for market or product requirements. Typical materials which are successfully pelletized and dried with Gala technology in the field every day include Biopolymers; Hot Melt Adhesives; Polyolefins; Styrene and Acrylic Products; Engineered Resins, Polyesters, Nylons; Masterbatches; Thermoplastic Elastomers; Polyvinyl Chlorides ; Glass Fiber and Natural Fiber Filled Products; to name a few.

We have over 25 years of experience in the pelletization and drying of Bio-based polymers. We have developed the iHeat Process to address the hygroscopic nature of many of these polymers and compounds to provide pellets with a residual moisture of less than 2000 ppm. In addition the CPT Process provides us with the means to direct crystallize many of the bio-based polymer grades. Gala holds multiple US and International patents for these two processes.

As far as dedicated personnel to the Bio-based Market, there is Bobby Man, Wayne Martin, Mark Tate and John Bolton who have a long history with the processing of bio-based polymers and compounds, and are active involved in nearly all applications. Combined we have nearly 100 years of processing experience in the group.

Gala Underwater Pelletizing Systems are designed for pelletizing rates from 2 kg/h to 20.000 kg/h and Centrifugal Dryers for rates from 2 kg/h to 100.000 kg/h.
