China’s demand for dyes and pigments has been growing 7.3% over the past decade. Through the end of year 2008, demand will advance 12% annually. Output of dyes and pigments will increase 13% annually through 2008. www.Textile-info.com

According to Etonwood Pte Ltd, China’s annual production of inorganic pigments , mainly iron oxide in this instance, is estimated at over 400,000 tonnes. Over 50% of the production is exported and overall growth is expected to average 7% a year. There are over 100 organic pigment producers in China and more than 50% of the products are exported. Growth is expected to grow at over 10% a year, with even greater growth of specialty pigment products. What does this signify for pigment producers?
