Rhodia Novecare has strengthened its position in the Asian surfactants market with the acquisition of its minority partner's shares in the joint venture Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd.

 

Initially manufacturing aspirin, Rhodia Thai Industries Ltd. developed a surfactants activity to respond to the growing demand in Thailand and in the Asia-Pacific region for numerous markets including home and personal care, agrochemicals, coatings, oil field and industrial applications.

 

This transaction follows the acquisition of the US-based surfactants manufacturer McIntyre in February 2009 and the recent start up of our new surfactants unit in Roha, India.
